Shabazz Muhammad: Future Star Should Pair with Kyle Anderson at UCLA
Shabazz Muhammad, the nation's top high school basketball prospect, has narrowed down his options to Duke, Kentucky and UCLA.
If he's smart, he'll join another stud prospect, point guard Kyle Anderson, at UCLA. Myron Medcalf of ESPN went over a few other reasons why Muhammad, Anderson and UCLA could compete for a national title next year if he headed to the Bruins:
"But it would be hard to keep UCLA out of the preseason Top 25 if it managed to add Muhammad. Kyle Anderson is a five-star guard who has already signed with the Bruins. Muhammad and Anderson together? Potent. The Wear twins return. Josh Smith could be back, too. Yes, UCLA will have the tools to win the Pac-12 and return to the NCAA tournament with Muhammad. With this program, you never know how everyone would mesh. But they'll certainly possess the necessary tools to put this season's embarrassment behind them.

The reason Muhammad and Anderson in particular would be such a potent pair, however, is mostly due to Anderson's game. He's 6'7" and can play both guard positions along with the point forward position. He has a complete game and knows how to make everyone else around him better.
Anderson would run the offense and incorporate the other four players on the court, but Muhammad would be the focal point of the attack. Together, they would be devastating.
And they would have the opportunity to be the players that helped UCLA regain its prestigious form, especially necessary after some trying seasons at UCLA.
Sure, he could go to Kentucky and join John Calipari's NBA minor-league team. He could be just another name in a Duke uniform.
But if he goes to UCLA, he could help revive a program and play with a player in Anderson that could bring out the best in his game.
It's the risky decision, but the payoff could be huge. And maybe I'm being selfish here in suggesting he head west—I just really want to see those two guys on the court together.
It would be really fun to watch.
