Ozzie Guillen's Comments Shouldn't Surprise
Ozzie Guillen has always been known as a fiery, vocal manager who says just about anything and everything that is on his mind.
The newly revamped Miami Marlins signed Guillen in hopes that he would invigorate fans and get them to care about baseball, despite the fact their local club won two of the last 15 World Series.
After a few big name signings like Jose Reyes, Heath Bell and Mark Buehrle, the Marlins became the hot new team on the block. With Guillen at the helm, people were excited about this new-look franchise and were excited to see what their fiery new manager could do.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Then the season started, and Miami was nearly no-hit by the St. Louis Cardinals in its brand new ball park.
Miami had a sluggish first weekend, and then came news that Guillen made some pro-Castro remarks to Time Magazine.
The conservative and reactionary local Cuban community was predictably outraged and some called for a boycott of the Marlins and the firing of Guillen.
Regardless of where you stand on this issue, or at all, it should come as no surprise that Guillen would ruffle feathers. The Marlins knew what they were getting when they hired him.
Guillen has been extremely apologetic in response to the very public backlash and claimed his words were misinterpreted because he was thinking in Spanish and spoke in English. While translations are often muddled, "I love Castro" is hard to interpret incorrectly.
No doubt, when Guillen returns from his five-game suspension, he will do his best to keep his political opinions to himself, but wouldn't we all be worse off if Ozzie kept his mouth shut entirely? Isn't this part of the fun? Isn't this what you signed on for, Miami?
The Marlins still have 157 games left.
We'll have to wait and see what Ozzie's got in store for us.
