The Question: What Happens if Arsenal Dont Win a Trophy This Season?
The second most successful manager in over a decade of English football, Arsene Wenger has transformed Arsenal football club with seven major trophies since his appointment.
But what happens if Arsenal achieve a fourth straight season without silverware?
He has led Arsenal to the League and FA Cup double on two separate occasions—with the club only acheiving this feat once in their entire history—and his "invincible" team went the entire 2003-04 season without a single loss in the Premier League.

The Arsenal team's 49 game unbeaten run is still the current English domestic league record.
Wenger has also taken Arsenal to a UEFA Cup and Champions League runner-up spot and five second place league finishes since he took over as manager in 1996.
He brought with him a new philosophy for football and introduced new tactics and training regimes, as well as adding quality players to an already well established first team he inherited from George Graham and Bruce Rioch.
He has built up a worldwide reputation of finding incredibly talented young players and turning them in to world class superstars. With mesmerizing football they are also considered to be one of the best attacking units in modern football.
His Arsenal team went 10 Champions League games without conceeding and his defensive back four during that record breaking run cost a total of £5 million to buy.
He has introduced players such as George Weah, Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka, Patrick Viera, and Cesc Fabregas for relatively little money—most notebaly Anelka who he paid £500,000 for and sold two seasons later to Real Madrid for £22 million.
Wenger's input in to the club does not stop with the players and how they play football; he was instrumental in the design process of The Emirates Stadium and the new training ground as well as being the only manager to make a profit on the transfers in 2007—averaging a net spend of £6 million a year since he took over as Arsenal manager.
However, with the resurgence of a young Manchester United team and the new found success of a quality packed Chelsea squad, Arsenal have struggled slightly in the hunt for silverware over the last three seasons.
There is no question Arsene Wenger is still rebuilding a new team of youngsters and in time, it is acceptable to believe that Wenger will achieve further success in regards to silverware.
But in todays money driven atmosphere and with fickle demands from supporters; will Arsene Wenger be given enough time to bring back a trophy to the club?
What happens if Arsenal need another season or two before reaching potential and stretch to four or five trophyless seasons?
Will big players like Cesc Fabregas or Samir Nasri want to stick around if they are not competing for medals? Will Arsenal be able to attract players if they dont regain their form of a few seasons ago?
With heavy repayments on their new stadium and no serious income by way of league and cup wins; will another emptyhanded campaign begin the spiral out of control until fan pressure finally warrants the dismissal of Wenger?
Perhaps Wenger will wash his hands of Arsenal altogether and seek a new challenge in another country by joining a new club.
Or will the board stand by their man in the wake of a fourth or fifth straight seasons without a trophy, as they have done commendably in the past.
What ever happens to Arsene Wenger his achievements with Arsenal will be forever recognised as a incredible achievement and Arsenal are in a much better position than they where when he took over.
