Masters 2012 Tee Times: Notable Tee Times for Tiger Woods and More

Josh BenjaminJun 7, 2018

As we head into the final day of the 2012 Masters Tournament, it's safe to say that it is anyone's game.  The top five players are all separated by a single stroke so as their time in Augusta comes to a close, the competitive cauldron is sure to be bubbling over.  On top of that, tons of questions are swirling.

Will Phil Mickelson get over the hump and take home his second Green Jacket in three years?  More importantly, will Tiger Woods at least finish with a bang and silence the haters some more?  No matter how you look at it, some interesting tee times are taking place starting at 9:20 a.m. ET and will surely play an interesting role in the rest of the tournament.

Woods doesn't tee off until 11:30, but he is paired with none other than 2000 Masters winner Vijay Singh.  This is interesting not only because the two of them are golf titans, but also because Singh is also kind of looking for redemption, much like Woods.  He has not won a major tournament since taking home the PGA Championship back in 2004.

Woods, on the other hand, won the Arnold Palmer invitational last month.  Yet, he has not taken home a major tournament trophy since winning the U.S. Open in 2008.

In other tee-time news, we have the top two on the leaderboard starting at 2:40 p.m. when Sweden's Peter Hanson takes on Phil "Lefty" Mickelson.  This is something of an interesting matchup not only in terms of experience, but because it pits a Masters veteran taking on another redemption case.  Hanson did not make the cut at last year's Masters, but now finds himself one stroke ahead of Mickelson, who was red hot yesterday and ended the day in second place.

The same can be said for the 2:30 tee time for Bubba Watson and South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen.  Watson finished in a tie for 38th place last year while prior to this year's tournament, Oosthuizen was cut all three times he came to Augusta.  Now, they both find themselves near the top of the leaderboard and within reach of that Green Jacket.

That all being said, it's clear what the main theme of the 2012 Masters Tournament is.  We have a seasoned veteran in Mickelson making a charge, but we also have a group of golfers who are looking to change their fortunes in a tourney that has dogged them time and time again.

Needless to say, it's going to be one heck of a final day.
