World Football Betting Guide: 10 Surefire Weekend Winners to Make You Money
Another football weekend means more chances to make money.
On the continent, Real Madrid face Valencia in a top-three clash while Lazio and Napoli battle it out for third place in Serie A.
In England, Arsenal and Manchester City will play each other in what's a must-win match for both. Elsewhere, Liverpool and Aston Villa will compete to see which team's form is worse.
It should be fun, and like I said, there's money to be made.
Real Madrid-Valencia
1 of 10Real Madrid are in form (as if they were ever out of form this season).
And so is Kaka (who, let's face it, was pretty much rubbish at the start of the season).
All of the Brazilian's goal markets at Blue Square are tempting. Take your pick.
He's 11/2 to score first, 11/2 to score last, 7/1 for two or more goals and 40/1 for a hat trick.
On current form, I wouldn't put a pair of goals past him.
Athletic Bilbao-Sevilla
2 of 10Athletic Bilbao have been impressive this season in Europe. Domestically, not as much.
And that's been especially true right after their European forays.
In league matches immediately after a Europa League game (discounting qualifiers), Bilbao have won four, lost four and drawn four. That record includes losses in their last three league matches following the Europa League.
They played Schalke on Thursday. So, do you think they're going to beat Sevilla on Sunday?
Blue Square lists a draw at 23/10 and a Sevilla win at 21/10.
Bayern Munich-Augsburg
3 of 10Champions League semifinalists Bayern Munich host Augsburg on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
I can't see anything but a decisive home win in this match.
Take your pick of these options at Sky Bet:
Bayern 1-0…8/1
Bayern 2-0…11/2
Bayern 2-1…17/2
Bayern 3-0…11/2
Bayern 3-1…9/1
Lazio-Napoli
4 of 10Lazio and Napoli battle for third place—and to see whose form is worse—in Serie A on Saturday.
Neither team has been impressive lately, with Lazio losing three of their last four and Napoli taking two points from the last nine available.
Ladbrokes lists a draw at 11/5, and that's a bit tempting, but we can do better. In half-time/full-time betting, home/away and away/home are both 22/1.
Pick your poison, or just take both.
Swansea-Newcastle
5 of 10Why are they playing on Friday? Nobody really knows.
But lately, we've all learned that Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson is a heck of a player.
Blue Square lists the Icelandic midfielder at 13/2 to be first goal scorer. Same odds for him as last goal scorer.
Sunderland-Spurs
6 of 10This one seems like a tough call.
Sunderland played well enough to win against Manchester City last weekend. But will they suffer a letdown this weekend?
Spurs recently ended their winless league run. But they haven't won away from home in the league since Dec. 27.
Yikes.
Sky Bet lists Seb Larsson at 15/2 as Sunderland's first goal scorer. That sounds as good as anything in this match.
Liverpool-Aston Villa
7 of 10It's the battle of the English Premier League's rubbish form teams!
Anyone want to bet on either team?
Nope? That's what I thought. Blue Square offers 11/1 odds on neither team scoring.
Chelsea-Wigan
8 of 10There's no point in fighting it anymore. The Chelsea revival is well and truly on.
Branislav Ivanovic at 7/1 to score at any time? (William Hill)
Well, why the heck not?
Arsenal-Manchester City
9 of 10Both teams absolutely have to win this game.
You know what that means. Yes, it will be a draw.
Blue Square has 13/2 odds on a 1-1 draw, but how about Robin van Persie at 4/1 to be booked?
Manchester United-QPR
10 of 10Manchester United will win this game.
Don't even think about putting money on QPR. They used up all their upset magic last weekend against Arsenal.
Ladbrokes has Ryan Giggs at 8/1 for first goal scorer.
Instead, though, why not have some fun and go with this treble at William Hill: United to win, over 12 corners and over six cards.
The odds? 20/1.
