Masters 2012: Tiger Woods and Golfers to Follow Each Day at Augusta

Eric BowmanApr 5, 2012

The 2012 Masters is already underway. While most folks have their favorite golfer they like to root for, there are plenty of other golfers worth watching all weekend long at Augusta National.

Since they're playing at such a beautiful course, it's easy to get lost in the amazing features of Augusta National and forget about which golfer is actually on the TV screen.

Plus, if your favorite golfer doesn't tee off until later in the day, you'll need to find someone worth watching.

That being said, here are three golfers to follow each day at the 2012 Masters.

Tiger Woods

He's the most popular player in the field and the most polarizing figure in golf. You'd be sorry not to keep an eye on Tiger this weekend.

Having recently won his first PGA Tour tournament since 2009, Tiger is back in a winning frame of mind, which should equal great success at Augusta.

The minute he tees off, Tiger is worth following—no matter what he does away from the course. He's a phenomenal player. Should he win another green jacket, you'll feel really good knowing you kept up with him each day, given his recent struggles.

Bubba Watson

Watson is a great golfer that can crush the ball like there's no tomorrow. Plus, he's a fun and loose guy, which makes him great to watch.

As you can see in the video above, he's not afraid to be himself and be goofy. Of course, he'll be extremely focused and determined to win at Augusta, but you never know what he might wear.

Watson is a long bomber off the tee, and that alone is enough reason to watch him each day. He'll make you jealous of his driving, but will at the same time inspire you to go out there and be better.

Rory McIlroy

After his mega collapse a year ago, all eyes will be on McIlroy this weekend, and rightfully so.

One obvious reason to watch him is to see if he chokes again, but it's not the only reason. McIlroy is a bright young star with a long career ahead of him.

He has the potential to win several Masters. To be able to say you saw him each round in the year he won his first would be fantastic.
