SEC Football: Weekly Recruiting Roundup, Decision Day for Max Browne

Commitments:
-LSU's busy week started with the commitment of Michael Patterson, 6'3", 240-pound defensive end from Winnfield Senior High School in Winnfield, Louisiana. He is rated as a three-star player according to 247sports.com, and is ranked as the 18th-best defensive end in the country.
-Tevin Lawson, a 6'4", 270-pound offensive tackle from Denham Springs, Louisiana, also made his decision to play football at LSU. Lawson is a three-star offensive tackle and rated as the 19th-best player in the state of Louisiana, according to 247sports.com.
-Completing the trifecta of commitments to LSU was K.J. Malone, the son of NBA legend Karl Malone. Malone is a three-star recruit, according to 247sports.com. Malone is a six-foot-three center from Cedar Creek High School in Ruston, Louisiana. Malone committed to the coaching staff after LSU's spring game on Saturday.
-South Carolina got a big commitment from the junior college ranks. Over the weekend, Alfy Hill, a 6'4", 275-pound speed rushing defensive end from Los Angeles Valley College, agreed to play for the Gamecocks. Hill originally signed with Alabama in 2010, but was denied admission. After a brief stint at ECU, Hill went the junior college route and has now made it back to the SEC.
-The momentum continued for the Gamecocks, who also picked up 6'1", 240-pound linebacker Gerald Turner from Goose Creek, South Carolina. Turner is a three-star prospect and the ranked No. 8 overall in the state of South Carolina, according to 247sports.com.
-Vanderbilt continued to raid the Peach State by picking up Taurean Ferguson, a 5'10", 175-pound cornerback from Jonesboro, Georgia. Ferguson chose the Commodores over Akron, Ole Miss and Wake Forest.
- Mississippi State jumped into the commitment pool by getting the pledge of Brandon Wells, a 6'2", 175-pound athlete from Bouge Chitto School in Bouge Chitto, Mississippi. Wells is the No. 12 prospect in the state of Mississippi, according to 247sports.com.
News and Rumors:
-Max Browne, the nation's No. 1 quarterback recruit, will announce his college decision at 11:00 p.m. ET from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash. Browne lists Alabama as one of his finalists, along with Washington, USC and Oklahoma.
-Dalvin Tomlinson, a defensive tackle prospect that recently signed with Alabama as part of the 2012 class, suffered a major knee injury while playing soccer and will undergo surgery, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
