If South Carolina keeps this up, it'll be known as "Defensive Line U" in no time at all.
According to Wes Mitchell of GamecockAnthem.com, the Gamecocks picked up a commitment from the junior college ranks on Friday. Los Angeles Valley College defensive end Alfy Hill will sign with South Carolina as part of the 2013 recruiting class.
Hill originally signed with Alabama out of West Brunswick High School in Shallotte, N.C. in February 2010, but he was denied admission. He briefly enrolled at East Carolina before going the junior college route.
The 6'4", 255-pounder is known for his speed and athleticism off the edge, and is rated as a 4-star prospect, according to 247sports.com. Hill will be a nice complement to fellow defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. The two players will both be juniors when Hill takes the field in 2013.
