Keeping Robinson Cano is a Smart Move by the New York Yankees
Not much has gone on in Yankeeland today. What’s there to really happen anyway? They could sign Andy Pettitte or maybe another veteran starter to round out their rotation. Maybe they could trade for a center fielder or sign Andruw Jones.
One thing they haven’t done is trade Robinson Cano. They have had callers recently according to St. Louis Today.
They reported over the weekend that the St. Louis Cardinals got in contact with the Yankees inquiring after Cano to improve their infield.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Turns out the call ended quickly after the Yankees started the conversation with Todd Wellemeyer.
This means that the Yankees still think a lot of Cano for two reasons. Wellemeyer is good, and the Yankees could really use him to fill the hole in the back end of their rotation.
It also means the Yankees are reasonable when it comes to listening to all offers. After all, if the Giants called and offered Tim Lincecum we would want the Yankees to at least think about it.
But Cano has potential to be a great hitter, and I’m glad they kept him around.
Other than that there, isn’t much out there.
And Don Zimmer is ok after suffering a stroke. Should he wear his helmet everyday now?
