2012 NFL Mock Draft: Offensive Studs Guaranteed to Start Right Away
The 2012 NFL draft is loaded with offensive players that will make in instant impact right away. These guys have the athleticism and football acumen that making the huge talent jump from college to the NFL will not keep them from contributing.
Below is my latest first-round mock draft, and in that mock, the players that are guaranteed to start right away are given special attention.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
Why Luck Will Start Right Away
There isn't a position harder for a rookie to adjust to than QB. However, there have been few QBs as prepared for the NFL as Andrew Luck.
Luck stayed all four years at Stanford, during which time he attempted 1,064 passes in a pro-style offense.
He knows which players to key on to make his reads and how to go through his progression. So not only does Luck have all the physical tools that will make him the No. 1 overall pick, but he also has the experience that will allow him to start right away.
2. Washington Redskins via St. Louis: Robert Griffin III
Any doubt about who would be the second pick in this draft ended when the Redskins traded up to take the Rams' selection.
3. Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT, USC
Kalil is the kind of massive athletic freak that Pro Bowl left tackles are made of.
4. Cleveland Browns: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
Claiborne is a polished, pro-ready CB that has shutdown potential.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
Why Richardson Will Start Right Away
LeGarrette Blount is a restricted free agent and will likely return to Tampa Bay, but he won't be returning as the starter. Blount shows flashes, but he is a flawed player. He is not good in short-yardage situations, bad catching the ball out of the backfield and terrible in pass protection.
Richardson is good at all of those things, and the Bucs need help in all areas of the offense. Richardson is the pick here and will be the starter, because he will help the entire offense get better.
6. St. Louis Rams via Washington: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
The Rams brass will be high-fiving each other until June if Blackmon is still on the board when they pick.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Quinton Coples, DE, UNC
Coples is the best pass-rusher in this draft. He will do wonders for the Jaguars defense.
8. Carolina Panthers: Devon Still, DT, Penn State
Carolina's defense was terrible last year. This started with the defensive line. Still will be a nice anchor for that line.
9. Miami Dolphins: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
Martin is a superb run-blocker. He needs some help in pass protection, but will be a nice fit on the right side of the Dolphins' offensive line.
10. Buffalo Bills: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
The Bills are so desperate for secondary help that they will take a flyer on this talented corner with character concerns.
11. Kansas City Chiefs: David DeCastro, OG, Stanford
DeCastro is another dominant run-blocker out of Stanford. He will be a great addition to the Chiefs line.
12. Seattle Seahawks: Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis
Seattle's defense is on the verge of being dominant. A big defensive tackle that can penetrate into the backfield will help it reach that dominance.
13. Arizona Cardinals: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
Kevin Kolb is not a good fit. They missed out on Peyton Manning. They will turn to the draft to find their next QB.
14. Dallas Cowboys: Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
Kuechly is a tackling machine with great instincts. This will be a nice addition for the Cowboys.
15. Philadelphia Eagles: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
The Eagles spent last offseason adding flashy weapons. Now they need to add some beef in the trenches.
16. New York Jets: Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, South Carolina
The Jets need Ingram's speed and ability to hold the edge.
17. Cincinnati Bengals via OAK: Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
The Bengals have little interest in bringing Cedric Benson back. They need a running back.
18. San Diego Chargers: Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska
Dennard is an excellent man-to-man corner that will complete the Chargers secondary.
19. Chicago Bears: Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin
The Bears have to get a center in the draft, and they'll have an opportunity to draft the best one.
20. Tennessee Titans: Mark Barron, S, Alabama
Barron has all the tools a team look for in a safety, and the Titans need a safety.
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
Janoris Jenkins has the potential to be a shutdown corner—or a bust.
22. Cleveland Browns via ATL: Zach Brown, OLB, UNC
The Browns will complete their defense in the first round and spend the rest of the draft adding offense.
23. Detroit Lions: Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia
Glenn is going to be a beast run-blocking. This will be a perfect fit for a Lions team that needs to establish its run game.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State
Adams has the tool to be a good left tackle, but he might not have the drive. The Steelers will try to give him that drive.
25. Denver Broncos: Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
The Broncos have to add a defensive tackle in this draft. They'll be ecstatic if Cox is still available when they draft.
26. Houston Texans: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
Why Floyd Will Start Right Away
The Texans need to find a legitimate receiving threat to line up alongside Andre Johnson or step up if he gets hurt again. The Texans almost had to go to an offense that was almost exclusively passes to the tight end or get the ball to Arian Foster when Johnson was hurt last year.
Floyd will face little competition to break the starting lineup, and he has the route running to play right away. Floyd has good size for the position and good hands. He will be a nice complement to Johnson.
27. New England Patriots via NO: Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama
It's time for the Patriots to get an outstanding athlete that can rush the passer.
28. Green Bay Packers: Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC
The Packers might want to consider trading ahead of the Patriots because they will be looking at the same pass-rushers.
29. Baltimore Ravens: Dont'a Hightower, LB, Alabama
The Ravens need to add some youth to their linebackers, and groom a replacement for Ray Lewis. Hightower can do just that and play OLB while Lewis is still there.
30. San Francisco 49ers: Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina
San Francisco has made it a point to address its receiving corps. The 49ers will add a promising rookie to their new free agents.
31. New England Patriots: Jared Crick, DL, Nebraska
The Patriots must add youth to their defensive line. Crick will be a nice fit at DE in their 3-4.
32. New York Giants: Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State
The Giants drafting a defensive lineman? They wouldn't do that...or would they?
