WWE WrestleMania 28: 7 Ways Shawn Michaels Could Insert Himself into HHH/Taker
When The Undertaker faces Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 28, special guest referee Shawn Michaels is going to play a big role in the story and outcome of the bout.
HBK has said that he can remain impartial and that he won't favor his best friend, Triple H. But he's also said that he already knows who's going to win the match.
This has generated a ton of interest in the match between Undertaker and Triple H, even though it's pretty predictable.
Although 99.9 percent of us are positive that Undertaker will eventually wind up winning, there is that tiny percentage of WWE fans who think that Michaels' role as special guest ref could end up leading to a Triple H win.
Either way, I think we can all rest assured that Michaels is going to get involved somehow, someway.
Here are seven ways that HBK could insert himself into the HIAC match between Undertaker and Triple H.
7. Sweet Chin Music
1 of 7As I'm sure both The Undertaker and Triple H are well aware of, the possibility of getting blasted with Sweet Chin Music is always there.
Though Shawn Michaels has vowed to stay out of the match (as much as a referee can), it's going to be really hard for him to do so, especially if either Taker of Triple H lays a hand on him.
No matter what the scenario may be, however, there is certainly a chance that something happens that causes Michaels to hit either Triple H or Undertaker with his patented super kick.
Maybe HBK sees that HHH is about to lose and decides to hit Taker with a super kick to keep the match going, or maybe Triple H gets in HBK's face and HBK nails him with a super kick to put him back in his place.
We don't know exactly how a little taste of Sweet Chin Music might go down or who will get it, but I think we can accept the fact that it's never out of the realm of possibility.
6. Refusal to Count a Pin
2 of 7Chances are that at some point, Shawn Michaels is going to refuse to count at least one pin.
That can, of course, happen in a number of different ways, though.
A couple of obvious scenarios would be for HBK to refuse to count a pin because "Triple H's foot was under the ropes" or because "Undertaker's shoulder's weren't touching the mat."
This doesn't even have to be true. HBK can be totally BSing both guys in the match. But that only makes the story of this bout even better.
The idea is to prove that Michaels is, in fact, going back on his word and not remaining impartial like he said he would.
5. HBK Gets Hit with a Finisher
3 of 7Shawn Michaels may not hit either The Undertaker or Triple H with a finisher, but they might turn the tables on HBK and send him to the mat with one of theirs.
This would likely involve a number of escalating factors that piss Triple H or Undertaker off so much that they feel like they have no choice but to nail Michaels with a Pedigree, ChokeSlam or Tombstone.
Let's say, for example, that Triple H thinks Michaels is favoring The Undertaker by counting Triple H's pin attempts too slowly, so he gets in Michaels' face. Michaels pushes him and then he nails Michaels with a kick to the gut followed by a pedigree.
This could have a huge affect on the match if HBK is knocked out for a while courtesy of an intentional move by one of the match's participants.
4. Michaels Gets Physical
4 of 7Saying "Shawn Michaels get physical" is a pretty broad statement, but that's the point.
There are literally hundreds of ways that HBK can get physically involved with Triple H, Undertaker or both at some point during the Hell in a Cell match.
This could be anything, from Michaels rolling a beaten Undertaker into the ring to Michaels slapping Triple H across the face to Michaels breaking up a pin attempt by either competitor.
The idea is the same in all scenarios, though: HBK does something that turns the tide for either competitor, or possibly even allows one of them to win the match.
I think it's incredibly likely that we'll see HBK do something along these lines, such as getting into a shoving match with Undertaker that allows Triple H to nail him from behind with a chairshot.
3. He'll Get 'Distracted' During a Pin Attempt
5 of 7How many times have we seen this happen before?
Any time a special guest referee is involved in a match, it's almost inevitable that he will suddenly find himself "distracted," and thus, "unable" to count a pin.
It can be as ridiculous as Shawn Michaels having to scratch something on his back or needing to tie his shoe at the exact same time that either The Undertaker or Triple H is going for a pin attempt.
While these "distractions" are obviously fake, that's the purpose of them.
Either Triple H or The Undertaker is going to be furious if HBK pulls a stunt like this, and as with anything else that Michaels may do, a "distraction" during a pin attempt is going to have a huge affect on the way the bout plays out.
2. HBK Becomes a Distraction Himself
6 of 7While I think it's incredibly likely that Shawn Michaels gets "distracted," another scenario that could play out is Michaels becoming a distraction himself.
What I mean by that is that Michaels purposely distracts either The Undertaker or Triple H to give the other guy an advantage in the match, or perhaps Michaels becomes a distraction to both men.
In the first scenario, HBK could turn his back to the action and refuse to watch it, resulting in Undertaker getting pissed off that HBK is missing his pin attempt, going after HBK and allowing Triple H to attack Undertaker from behind.
In the second scenario, HBK could literally get someone to let him out of the cell, walk out of the cell and head up the ramp because he "doesn't want to be the one who decides the outcome of the match."
Whatever the case may be, the idea is that Michaels becomes a major distraction that, of course, would greatly affect the story of the match as well as its outcome.
1. Accidental Ref Bump
7 of 7Can we bank on Shawm Michales taking an accidental ref bump on Sunday? I think so.
We know that Michaels' role as special guest referee is going to have him heavily involved in everything that goes down between The Undertaker and Triple H, and thus, he's going to be right around all the action as it happens.
That almost guarantees some sort of accidental ref bump that knocks him out of the match for several minutes.
Maybe there's a huge spot where both Undertaker and Triple H accidentally take HBK out, or perhaps just one of the two inadvertently hits him with a move that lays him out for a while.
It just depends on how the WWE wants to build this match and whether HBK's beef during the match is going to be with Triple H, Undertaker or both.
No matter what, though, I think it's highly likely that HBK gets hit with a move that removes him from the match and send the crowd into a frenzy.
Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
