28 Days of 'Mania: Looking Ahead to the Day After the Biggest Night of the Year
Disclaimer: This will be an ongoing series for the next 28 days leading up to the biggest event in sports entertainment, WrestleMania 28. The idea behind the piece is to build more momentum for the event and give you, the Bleacher Report fan, a chance to read, comment and weigh in with opinions about the WWE, the business and the event. It is my hope this becomes something positive and we all enjoy the ride for the next four weeks to Miami and the biggest event of the wrestling year. Enjoy.
Maybe the most important thing about WrestleMania 28 is what happens after the event. What happens the day after is what I am talking about.

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After the dust settles and Shawn Michaels stands in the ring with a fallen HHH and Undertaker beneath him, letting the entire world know he is the best of all-time, the fun begins with new storylines and new feuds for the taking. And hopefully, we won’t have to worry about being disappointed.
I don’t think I am asking for too much when I ask that there be enough excitement at the PPV for me to get my money’s worth and my hopes up for bigger things leading to warmer weather and SummerSlam.
But what the creative teams have done is put the WWE in an odd situation. Wrestlers like Christian, Alberto Del Rio, Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio will all return to action. Wade Barrett will soon follow and the cool fall and winter will give way to a very hot spring and summer that no doubt will have us asking if the WWE made the right choices with matches, angles, feuds and spots.
But as a fan and a writer, that is always how it has been.
There are a few things you probably can count on in nine days (yes, nine days). CM Punk will lose the WWE Title. Daniel Bryan will fall to Sheamus with the help of AJ in some capacity (maybe not her own fault), Cody Rhodes will fall to Big Show and then challenge Sheamus for the World Title.
But after that, there are question marks and blanks that need to be filled.
This thing about Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis is old. It doesn’t make sense to me and, for the most part, is a waste of space. Make it go away or make it more meaningful with better actors (and now I know why Jennifer Hudson wants David Otunga to quit wrestling).
What happens with John Cena? Does he find a dance partner other than Tensai?
Does someone like Wade Barrett jump back in? Randy Orton? Christian? Someone we did not think of? I don’t see a lot of wrestlers jumping into the fray to be part of Cena’s spectacle.
And, of course, you have the women to deal with. The celebrity tag match is an awful idea when the division again is in shambles and creative moved away from Tamina becoming the next big thing.
And Eve and Beth Phoenix seem to be a nice package (no pun intended), leaving the door open for Natalya to turn on her friends.
Oh well, guess we have to wait and see what dramas we have in store for us. All of this in due time.
But understand that if the matches are substandard, then the feuds moving forward will be less effective.
But we can all use a little HBK vs. HHH to make things better.
