Observations from Manchester City's 2-1 Win over Chelsea
The final whistle has gone and Manchester City have come from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1.
Roberto Mancini will be delighted, his namesake Di Matteo will be absolutely crestfallen.
Tonight was an important match for several reasons. It showed us how strong the two teams really are and guaranteed that the Premier League title race will go right to wire.
What did we learn from the fixture? Read on and enjoy the slideshow!
That Was the Samir Nasri We Know
1 of 5For the last several seasons, Samir Nasri has been a creative force.
He was the heartbeat of an Arsenal midfield often missing Cesc Fabregas and scored enough goals to keep the North London club in the UEFA Champions League places.
It hasn't really happened for him at Manchester City just yet but tonight marked some significant progress.
David Silva struggled to influence the game but the Frenchman stepped up. Big time.
City Have the Mettle
2 of 5Manchester City weren't at their best against Chelsea.
They were sloppy at times and were unable to break down the London club's basic defensive structure.
But they came back from a one-goal deficit and won the match, keeping them neck and neck with Manchester United for the title race.
It's matches like these where your character is tested and City passed the test.
Carlos Tevez Will Be Crucial for the Run-in
3 of 5Never has a club been in such a surprisingly good position.
Having lost Carlos Tevez to a childish exile midseason, Manchester City were able to cope without due to the sheer depth and quality of their squad.
At this important stage of the season, what could be better than reintroducing a fresh, fit and apologetic world-class striker?
Not much, to be honest.
Juan Manuel Mata Must Add Goals to His Game
4 of 5Juan Manuel Mata is Chelsea's chief playmaker and will likely have that job for the next five years.
If he is to become one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, he must add more goals to his game.
He gets himself into some great positions and his reading of the game is great but his finishing leaves a little to be desired.
He has scored some nice goals this season, don't doubt that, but he could score even more.
Is Jose Bosingwa the Worst Right-Back in the League?
5 of 5Wow.
Chelsea probably can't wait to wave goodbye to Portuguese right-back Jose Bosingwa.
It has long been known that he can't defend. That fact was only reinforced this evening. His clearances are awful, nearly always finding the oppositions feet allowing them to launch the next wave of attack.
His attacking instinct has steadily diminished and he's a long way from the player who would cut inside and score left-footed screamers from outside the area under Carlo Ancelotti.
