Toronto Maple Leafs: Starting the Week Has Never Felt so Bad
Whatever way you want to look at it, the week hasn't exactly gone according to plan for the Toronto Maple Leafs—in fact, it's probably already a week they'd rather forget.
I mean, you know it's not going well when you give up eight goals on Monday night to the Boston Bruins.
Yup. Eight.

You might be inclined to say that well it wasn't reflective of the game and that there was more to it than the scoreline, but in reality, you'd be wrong.
The game looked like a 8-0 drubbing and it was an 8-0 drubbing.
At the end of the second period, Boston had scored as many goals (seven) as the Leafs had shots.
The Bruins have now outscored Toronto 36-10 this season, leaving James Reimer to comment that he's "never really seen anything like that domination."
So 8-0 down, and that was just Monday. Surely Tuesday had to get better, right?
Well, yes and no.
Toronto had a home game to the New York Islanders—a team destined to miss the NFL playoffs again—but again, they conceded far too many goals to be competitive.
Twice the Leafs blew leads in the match as the final score read 5-2 to the Islanders.
So now we're up to 13 goals in two nights of hockey.
As I said, it hasn't been the greatest start to the week.
The saving thing for the Leafs may be that they don't have to play again until Friday, where they will take on the New Jersey Devils, which may not be so good.
If they can't tighten up the defense come Friday, they may be in for another demolition from the Devils which would only turn an otherwise miserable week in to a downright depressing one.
It's not been over a month since the Leafs have won at home, and with weeks like these, I guess you can understand why.
