Top 10 Plays of the World Football Weekend
This weekend in world football, we saw a little of the expected and the unexpected.
Lionel Messi scored again for Barcelona, and as usual, it was a sublime effort. That's just to be expected from the magical Argentine.
What was more surprising was Fernando Torres' brace for Chelsea against Leicester City on Sunday in the FA Cup. With those goals, the Spaniard ended a drought that had lasted longer than a full day of football.
But that wasn't even the most surprising event of the weekend. Read on to find out what was.
Robben Fires Hat Trick
1 of 10Bayern Munich continued their recent goal glut, beating Hertha Berlin, 6-0, in the German capital on Saturday.
Dutch winger Arjen Robben continued his fine form as well, scoring a hat trick. The final two were penalties, but his first, in the 12th minute, was classic Robben.
More Messi Magic
2 of 10Lionel Messi scored again for Barcelona, grabbing the second in a 2-0 win over Sevilla.
The goal was pure class, with Messi latching onto a through-ball by Andres Iniesta before beating a defender with a nutmeg and scoring with a cheeky chip.
He's just unstoppable.
The Drought Is over
3 of 10The wait is over.
After more than 24 hours of football, Fernando Torres has finally scored again. The Spaniard ended his long scoring drought with two goals for Chelsea against Leicester City on Sunday.
The all-important breakthrough goal appears at left. Torres' second, a glancing header, was a bit nicer, but it wasn't as important as the first.
Fair Play
4 of 10Score one for honest footballers.
In the second leg of the Italian Amateur Cup on Friday, Vittorio Esposito of US Termoli intentionally missed a penalty kick in the 90th minute because the referee had made a bad call to award it in the first place.
Termoli won anyway.

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day
5 of 10Sporting Kansas City (yeah, that's their real name) beat the New England Revolution, 3-0, on Saturday in the MLS, and one of their scorers, Kei Kamara, infused his goal celebration with the St. Patrick's Day charm.
Serious question: Where was he hiding those hats?

Over-the-Shoulder Goal
6 of 10Pavel Yakovlev of Russian club FC Krylia Sovetov Samara doesn't need to be facing the goal to score.
He just improvises.

A Headbutt Zidane Would Be Proud of
7 of 10When your coach tells you to play like Zidane, this is not what he means.
That's Aleksandar Simic of OFK Belgrade headbutting Tomislav Pajovic of Rad Belgrade. Yikes.
Let's hope this doesn't become the default way to show up an annoying opponent.

Koo Ja-Cheol's Volleyed Goal for Augsburg
8 of 10Which is better?
Is it Koo Ja-Cheol's volleyed goal for Augsburg on Saturday against Mainz in the Bundesliga?
Or is it the reaction from the Korean announcers?
Slight edge to the announcers.
Killie Kill Celtic's Treble Dream
9 of 10Dieter Van Tornhout scored a powerfully headed goal in the 84th minute to give Kilmarnock a 1-0 victory over Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.
That ended Celtic's hopes of a treble this season.
Xavi Torres Sinks Villarreal, Jose Molina
10 of 10Xavi Torres scored the only goal, direct from a free kick, as Levante beat Villarreal, 1-0, on Sunday.
It was the third loss in a row for Villarreal, who started the season in the Champions League. Afterwards, Villarreal sacked Jose Molina.
