NBA Trade Rumors: Everything You Need to Know About Today's Deadline

Brian MaziqueJun 7, 2018

The NBA Trade deadline is approaching rapidly, and there is tons of talk. Truth is, it appears very little will get done, especially in regards to big names.

Here is everything you need to know about the deadline.

When: 3PM ET

Who Will Move:

Jamal Crawford

Blazers guard was held out of last night's game and it appears he will be moving on, one way or another.

Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports:

"

The Lakers revisited talks to acquire Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley on Wednesday, multiple league sources told ESPNLosAngeles.com. Several variations of the trade have been discussed.

One would land Beasley on the Lakers in a three-team deal that would send Portland Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford to the Wolves and Luke Ridnour from Minnesota to Portland.

Los Angeles would give up one of its two 2012 first-round draft picks in the deal and use its $8.9 million trade exception, acquired when it traded Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks in December, to absorb Beasley’s approximate $6.3 million salary. Portland would also receive the Lakers’ first-round pick.

"

Gerald Wallace

"Crash" has apparently been sent to New Jersey. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports tweeted:

Leandro Barbosa

Barbosa has been moved as well. Bobby Bonett of Newsday reported:

"

The Indiana Pacers have reportedly filled a major need.

First reported by Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears, the Toronto Raptors traded shooting guard Leandro Barbosa to Indiana. David Aldridge reported that the Pacers sent back a second-round pick, and Sam Amick reports that Anthony Carter may be off to Pacers, too.

"

Michael Beasley

See the Jamal Crawford section.

Ramon Sessions

Brian Windhorst of ESPN has reported Sessions is on his way to Lakers:

Who Will Not Move:

The biggest fish isn't going anywhere right now. He signed the waiver of his right to opt out of this contract. He made a great account of himself in the press conference explaining this process.

I personally am very impressed with his honesty.

Steve Nash

Nash is committed to playing out this season, though he could have received quite a bit of interest, had he made a "list."

Sean Deveney of Sporting News is reporting:

"

A source tells Sporting News that, “nothing has changed,” in regards to Nash. That means that the Suns’ plan to keep him for this season and let him hit free agency remains intact, and that Nash has not lodged any sudden trade demand with the team.

The Suns certainly could extract some assets for a Nash rental proposition, but we may not have seen the last of Nash in a Suns uniform after this year—there’s also a chance that Phoenix will re-sign Nash in the offseason. Expect him to stay put, for now at least.

"

Pau Gasol

It once looked like he was moving for sure, but the Lakers are building around the current squad. The Lakers are going to make a move with the core and some solid pieces.

If the Beasley deal is done, the Lakers are the favorites in the West.

Deron Williams

David Aldridge tweeted the following concerning a possible deal sending D-Will to the Knicks for Carmelo Anthony:

The Nets should have been on the phone as soon as Dwight Howard starting talking about not opting out. They are now in the position to be left holding the bag, as they lose Williams and now they won't get Dwight Howard.

It's a bad non-move.

Winners:

Lakers

L.A. is now a much stronger team, even if the only deal they complete is for Ramon Sessions. If they also acquire Beasley, they are the best team in the Western Conference.

Somewhere in the middle:

Magic

Orlando is safe for right now, but they could be in this situation again next season. He has agreed not to opt out now, but what will happen next season?

If anything, the Magic have bought themselves more time to appease him.

Losers:

Nets

Wallace is a nice add for now, but he'll be a free agent at the end of the season, and this is not a playoff team. New Jersey went all in for Dwight Howard but failed, now they will go into Brooklyn in 2012 with limited assets for marketable players.
