NBA Trade Rumors: Latest News on the Most Discussed Names

Alex HallJun 7, 2018

With just seven hours left on the clock for NBA teams to make mid-season adjustments to their squads, expect to see plenty of "BREAKING NEWS" headlines involving players on this list.

Of course, this slideshow's cover boy Dwight Howard is the biggest fish in the potential trades pond, but for the teams not on his radar, there's a few more quality fish to catch before 3 p.m. EST. Here's the latest news regarding the most talked about names leading up to the trade deadline.

Chris Kaman

1 of 5

New Orleans Hornets center Chris Kaman is certainly available, and the big man has a few teams still eying the possibility of bringing him on board.

Mike Wells of Indystar.com believes that the Indiana Pacers are going to be on the phone with New Orleans today, if they haven't been already. Roy Hibbert hasn't looked the same since the All-Star break and the team has more than enough cap space to bring in another center to relieve him of his duties as starting center.

Meanwhile, over in the northeast, A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet says the big American-German might soon be taking his talents to Boston.

A source told Blakely: "You look at what they need and what he brings to the game... it would be a great fit, it really would."

Michael Beasely

Michael Beasley has had his name in the rumor mill for quite some time, but it appears his most likely destination to be traded to is the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to ESPN Los Angeles, multiple league sources are reporting that the Lakers have been kicking the tires in Minnesota, seeing what it would take for the up-and-coming team to trade away one of their young pieces.

Dave McMenamin of ESPN is reporting that sources said the "sides have momentum" as Wednesday came to a close.

Beasley recently weighed in on the trade talks with the Star Tribune, saying:

"

"I'm just a pawn in this game. L.A., Boston, New Jersey, Orlando...I mean if they decide to move me, I've got to go."

"

Seems like the most likely place for Beasley "to go" is over to the bright lights of Los Angeles.

Carmelo Anthony

3 of 5

Through the rise of Jeremy Lin and the so-so performances of Carmelo Anthony for the Knicks, New York may be looking to unload the guy they traded half their team for just a handful of months ago.

The New York Post recently reported that 'Melo wouldn't mind a trade out of the Big Apple, which No. 7 replied by telling ESPN "I don't want to be traded, I don't know where this foolishness came from."

The New York Daily News has been told by a league source that one of James Dolan's entourage wants to trade Anthony in hopes of recuperating some cash.

The Daily News goes on to say that there's "a feeling within the organization" that it makes sense to sever ties with the former Denver Nugget. While potential trade partners have yet to be reported, at the very least this makes things a bit awkward for player and management in New York.

Pau Gasol

While the Lakers' Pau Gasol has been linked to almost every team but his own as of late, it seems the most likely jersey he'll be wearing after 3 p.m. today is the one he has on in this picture.

Gasol has been most recently linked to the Chicago Bulls, but Neil Hayes of the Chicago-Sun Times doesn't believe this deal can happen. The Lakers would have to take whatever is left of the man once known as Carlos Boozer and his hefty contract if the Bulls were to take on Gasol.

The trade-talk has been plentiful for the big Spaniard, but the Los Angeles Times reports he's handled it with class.

"I don't think it's personal at all, it's a business move." Gasol told the L.A. Times about the possibility of being traded.

Dwight Howard

5 of 5

With all the chatter surrounding Dwight Howard departing Orlando, the latest news is saying the center is staying with the Magic.

RealGM.com first reported of Howard's reversal on the subject, saying that the big man will play out this season in Orlando, but will terminate his contract at the end of it.

Howard explained to the website that it's been difficult thinking about leaving the only city he's played for professionally:

"

"Man, listen, you know my heart, my soul and everything I have is in Orlando. ... I just can't leave it behind."

"

The center went on to apologize for the circus that has been created over his possible departure. One Western Conference executive told Yahoo! Sports "This is a historic debacle" regarding the hoopla over Howard.
