Vincent Jackson Rumors: Redskins Make Most Sense for Money-Hungry WR
Can I interest you in a proven wide receiver who is good enough to be the No. 1 on a Super Bowl team?
The market for Vincent Jackson is huge, and it looks like the highest bidder is going to win. The potential landing spots include the Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers.
All of them are in desperate need of a No. 1, but are not all willing to shell out a multi-year deal in the neighborhood of $13 million per season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I know one team sure isn’t afraid to break the bank, though.
The Redskins are notorious for their free-spending ways under owner Dan Snyder and aren’t afraid to make it rain with Jackson when free agency opens on Tuesday.
With last week’s incredibly bold decision to surrender three first-round picks for the right to select Robert Griffin III with the second overall pick, the daring moves can’t be finished yet. As Matt Bowen of the Nationalfootballpost puts it, he’s going to need some serious help:
"Because once the ‘Skins made the investment to move up into a position to draft RGIII, adding a talent such as Jackson is the next step to building an offense to make a run at the NFC East title.
"
If Jackson’s main concern was winning, he would likely choose the Bears. Yet their owner, Virginia McCaskey, is notoriously cheap, and if she refuses to pay one of her own players like Matt Forte, I seriously doubt she’s ready to throw a blank check in Jackson’s direction.
How do we know Jackson is more concerned with money than a ring? He sat out almost the entire 2010 season because he wanted a new contract and the San Diego Chargers played hardball. It submarined his team and they haven’t made the playoffs since.
It’s about to be a new era in Washington, and Griffin III needs a weapon that is better than Jabar Gaffney. Coach Mike Shanahan is fighting to keep his job, and it’s a make-or-break season. All hands on deck.
Bringing in Jackson is going to speed up the learning process and increase the chances of success for RGIII in Year 1.
Enough to make a run at a NFC East title?
Stay tuned.
