The Only Goal You Need to See This Weekend: Matias Diaz Rocket Stuns River Plate
Ronaldinho, meet Matias Diaz.
Diaz is a midfielder for Defensa y Justicia, an awesomely-named Argentine team based in Buenos Aires. This weekend Diaz scored a ridonkulous goal in Defensa's 3-3 draw with River Plate in Argentina's National B Division.
Defensa is a humble club, having never won Argentina's top division. But now, Diaz has brought them fame by scoring a goal worthy of Ronaldinho.

Confused? Watch this video. That's Ronaldinho scoring the most famous ambiguous goal of all-time for Brazil against England during the 2002 World Cup. To this day, the only person who really knows for sure whether Ronaldinho meant to do that is Ronaldinho.
Diaz's goal will live on, too. From the video, we can see by Diaz's celebration that he wants us to believe he meant it. But did he really?
Here's guessing he didn't. Diaz was under heavy pressure along the touchline and appeared to be crossing when he played the ball.
Regardless, the goal drew Defensa level in the ninth minute against the legendary club River Plate. Former French international David Trezeguet—yeah, this guy—scored twice for River Plate, which was relegated to the National B Division following the 2010-11 season.
The draw put River Plate equal on points with Instituto atop the National B Division table. So while Diaz's goal was pretty cool, River Plate will probably earn promotion at the end of the season, and we probably won't be paying attention to Diaz or Defensa much longer.
But what a way to introduce themselves.
