Tottenham: Why Spurs Fans Want Jose Mourinho to Replace Harry Redknapp
Tottenham has, to say the least, seen a recent dip in form.
Long gone are the days where Tottenham was the talk of the Premier League, extending an 11-game unbeaten streak, compiling another streak where they were unbeaten in 10 of another 11, rising as high as second on the table and earning more and more respect as a team who could potentially unseat both Manchester clubs and bring the silverware back to London.
Now, Tottenham is feeling the effects of what happens when the spotlight is shone on you and turn out to be a fraud.

Instead of extolling Spurs' virtues, the recent press is hammering home the club's three-game losing streak—falling 5-2 to Arsenal, 3-1 to Manchester United and, most recently, 1-0 to Everton.
How bitter now the drink that was once so sweet.
To add insult to injury, fans in Tottenham are dealing with the fact that their beloved Harry Redknapp is favored as England's new manager with The Guardian crowning him "manager elect" even after an embarrassing shutout on Saturday night at Goodison Park.
It's all just so much to take in for the north London supporter base—the uncertainty surrounding their manager, the lawyers rapping on Redknapp's door at all hours of the night, the wheeling and dealing of transfers and the shuffling of rosters that sees Rafael van der Vaart and Louis Saha on the bench and Sandro and Jermain Defoe in the starting lineup.
It's all just too much.
That's why Spurs fans are clamoring for a manager who isn't paying attention to tax evasion lawyers and "gentleman's agreements" he made with fellow managers.
That's why Spurs fans want Jose Mourinho.
It's ridiculous to think the current manager of Real Madrid and a man named by Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl as "the best coach in any sport, anywhere" is linked with a move to Tottenham.
If, or rather when, Harry Redknapp gets selected as the newest manager of England's national football team, Tottenham fans will be begging, screaming, even weeping for Dan Levy to do whatever it takes to get Mourinho to White Hart Lane.
Mourinho has said he'd love a second crack at English football after leaving Chelsea in 2007. Coincidentally, Chelsea is the other heavy hitter on Mourinho's short list of possible destinations this summer, but his unusual departure from Stamford Bridge means Tottenham is the most likely club in England asking for his services.
The 49-year-old also Mourinho has an incredible resume when it comes to managing world-class footballers and high-profile clubs.
Porto? Chelsea? Inter Milan? Real Madrid? There's no personality The Special One hasn't come across.
Plus, Tottenham is stocked for the future and any manager worth his scarf can see it's only a matter of a year or two before the club is challenging for the league title well into May.
Mourinho's record in the Champions League is making the mouths of Tottenham's supporters water as we speak.
Leading Porto to a title in 2004 was remarkable in itself, but his success with Chelsea in 2005 and winning it again with Inter Milan in 2010 showed, that if you threw a dart anywhere in Europe, Mourinho could probably win a Champions League with a club there.
I'm sure Tottenham fans would go wild with the thought of Harry Redknapp being replaced with, well, Harry Redknapp.
He's loved by Spurs fans and his no-nonsense approach to players, the media and opposing managers is refreshing in an age where managers have very little rule in their own clubhouses.
But if Redknapp has a chance to lead merry ol' England through Euro 2012 and World Cup qualification, he'll take it, leaving many Spurs fans asking the Portuguese manager one question—por favor?
