WWE News: Spoilers, Analysis for This Friday's Edition of Friday Night SmackDown
Following the announcement by the WWE Board of Directors last week to swap general managers, Raw GM John Laurinaitis took control of the blue brand this week after Teddy Long ran the show Monday night in Boston.
Did the self-proclaimed “Mr Excitement” live up his nickname this week in his quest to become the general manager for both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown?

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
"They announce a Santino vs Jack Swagger cage match as the opener.
Santino bt Swagger to retain the U.S Title. Dolph attempted to interfere but Santino hunted him down with the Cobra. The finish came when Vicki shut the door on Swagger (by accident) and Santino managed to escape the cage.
Teddy Long asks Johnny Ace to stop Aksana's match with Kane later. Johnny then makes Teddy vs Johnny for later on to decide whether Aksana faces Kane or not.
Drew Mcintyre bt Hornswoggle to give Drew his job back!
Mark Henry bt Ezekiel Jackson in around 2 minutes.
Teddy Long bt Johnny Ace. Yes. Ace came out in a track suit followed by black "spandex" tights. Johnny Ace told Teddy to lie down while he pinned him. Kane's pyro then "shot up" the building! Randy Orton then came out, hit an RKO on the outside and Teddy rolled up Ace for the pin! UNBELIEVABLE!
Kofi & R-Truth bt Primo & Epico. Non Title.
Sheamus, Big Show & Randy Orton bt Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes & The Miz
"
With his great performances as of late since the Elimination Chamber last month, it was nice to see the WWE put the United States Championship on Santino along with retaining it on SmackDown when the consensus would be that he would lose it back to Jack Swagger.
I hope for a nice reign by Santino with the US Championship in the coming weeks.
As for the matches that involved Drew McIntyre and Ezekiel Jackson on this week’s episode, the WWE could be using these two superstars much better than they are currently as both have potential to be main event-caliber superstars.
To be honest, I’m going to let you the reader comment about the match between Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis as I just saw it as a time killer for the show and another way to extend their rivalry to WrestleMania.
With Evan Bourne out the picture following his second suspension, the team of Kofi Kingston and R-Truth could be a solid tag team for the WWE and would make good champions if they take the belts off Primo and Epico.
In the main event, the six-man tag team match quickly left the Miz and Randy Orton the only two superstars in the match as the Big Show and Cody Rhodes fought into the backstage area along with Sheamus and Daniel Bryan fighting into the crowd
After beating Miz with an RKO for his team, Kane came down to the ringside area to attack Orton but the Viper caught him with another RKO just like Monday night that ended this week’s episode.
Overall, I thought this week’s show was pretty good but the whole Teddy Long/John Laurinaitis match could have been left out if it were up to me.
So Bleachers, what did you think of this week’s SmackDown as the remaining days on the Road to WrestleMania continue to shrink until we’re in Miami on April 1?
