Stephen Jackson Trade Rumors Tracker: Latest Updates for Bucks Star
There is a reason Stephen Jackson has played on seven different teams in his career. And no, it is not because he's so good that everyone wants a piece of him.
The 6'8" swingman is disgruntled once again, this time on the seventh stop of what may be a double-digit tour before his NBA career is over, and wants to be moved.
Jackson is averaging career lows across the board since becoming a full-time starter in 2003 and has not been part of the Milwaukee Bucks' plans much at all this year.
The 33-year-old has started only half the games he's played and is the sixth-leading scorer on a mediocre-to-bad 14-win team.
Update: Friday, March 9 at 1:02 p.m. EST
Ken Berger of CBS Sports is reporting that interest in Jackson is high, but there are other issues at play.
"The Bucks have fielded what one source described as an "amazing" number of inquiries about Stephen Jackson, who has clashed with coach Scott Skiles. But the offers for Jackson, owed $10.1 million next season, have included Milwaukee being asked to take on future salary or include another player or draft pick to sweeten the deal. "It's going to be hard to move him by himself," the source said.
"
The money will definitely be a concern for any potential trade partner. Reading that, it seems likely that the financial complications will keep the Bucks from getting the best possible deal.
Update: Wednesday March 7 at 5:57 p.m. EST
While it appeared Scott Skiles and Stephen Jackson were right on the brink of a massive fallout and he would be dealt by now, it seems Skiles is comfortable taking a "wait and see" approach.
According to Sean Deveney of AOL Sporting News, Skiles said,
"“I am hopeful we can turn the whole thing around and he can be part of that. We’ll see. When he can get cleared to go, hopefully, it’s not—with the way the schedule is, dealing with these injuries, typically a guy will get kind of cleared, you’ll work him in with a practice day and the play in a game. With not much practice time, sometimes guys will get cleared and you’re putting them out there in a game. We’ll have to see what happens.”

Initial Update:
As of February 18, he mentioned not seeing a future in Milwaukee and expressed a desire to move to Orlando to play with Dwight Howard (via HoopsWorld):
"When asked if he has a future in Milwaukee, Jackson shook his head. "Not at all,” Jackson told HOOPSWORLD. “It’s obvious, you can see that. I’m just waiting until my situation is different. I’m coming to work every day and keeping myself prepared so that when my situation does get better, I’m ready to go."
"I would love to [play in Orlando],” Jackson said. “Dwight has said a couple of times that he wants me to be with him. When you get a compliment like that from a big man like Dwight, it means a lot. Tim Duncan always steps up for me and says I’m the ultimate teammate too. When I have guys like that speaking up for me, I must have been doing something right throughout my whole career. I know my situation is going to get better eventually and I’m just going to keep being professional and keep my mouth closed."
"
And for the most part Jackson has been true to his word. We haven't heard much chatter from hit at all and he's taken the court for all of eight minutes in the last five games due to injury.
But there also haven't been many teams clamoring for his services on the other end. The veteran has two years, $19 million remaining on his contract.
Exactly two weeks remain until deadline day and Jackson is a candidate to be moved, although he's hardly a very coveted player at the moment.
We'll update when there is something more to talk about.
