Robert Griffin III: Redskins and More Teams That Should Avoid Baylor QB
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is an enormous talent, as evidenced by his Heisman Trophy-winning season this past fall, but certain NFL teams like the Washington Redskins who need a quarterback must not draft him in April.
First, Griffin isn't a true pocket passer, and no dual-threat quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl. Very few of them have enjoyed great playoff success.
Griffin is an immense talent and throws a good deep ball, but he is not as talented as current NFL quarterback Vince Young was when he starred at Texas. Young played and shined in massively important games against elite opponents in pressure moments while in college, like the 2006 BCS National Championship Game.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Griffin has not played in those types of situations yet, and there are just too many unknowns to his game.
Let's look at three teams who should not draft Griffin in the 2012 NFL draft.
Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins started off terribly last season, losing their first seven games. However, they finished the season 6-3 thanks to some solid performances from quarterback Matt Moore.
The Dolphins should give Moore another shot at being the starting quarterback because he's a talented player who has proven he can lead a team as a starter.
Miami is better off giving support to Moore or acquiring Green Bay Packers backup Matt Flynn, because he thrived in the offensive system new Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin used in Green Bay last season.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns should not be willing to give up on Colt McCoy at this point in his career and must give him one more year so he can prove how capable he is as a starting quarterback.
Hopefully he can be healthy enough to do that, but the Browns also have pressing needs other than at quarterback.
They need a playmaking wide receiver, they need to upgrade at running back and their linebacking corps needs to get young and more athletic, too.
Griffin would be a nice fit in Cleveland, but the team must focus on rebuilding other parts of the team while giving McCoy another chance.
Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins should either trade for a veteran quarterback, or sign one in free agency rather than acquire one through the draft.
The Redskins could make the playoffs next season with an upgrade at quarterback, which is why if Peyton Manning ever becomes a serious option for them, they should strongly consider acquiring him.
Washington also needs to find a franchise running back and could also use another talented wide receiver. The Redskins would be better off finding an established quarterback than taking a chance that Griffin will be an elite player for many years.
