Rick Nash Trade Rumors: Blue Jackets' Demand Forces Rangers out of Trade Talks
The Columbus Blue Jackets are demanding way too much for Rick Nash, and it is going to cost them.
They are going to run out of teams that have interest in Nash. This is a negotiation, and it is a delicate balance of building up interest and demand and then executing the trade when they can get the maximum value.
The Blue Jackets are crossing that point. The latest team to decide the price is too high is the New York Rangers. Nick Kypreos of Sports Net tweeted out that news.

"#SNtrade. Going into Sunday nite, its sounding like #Rangers have backed out on the Nash sweepstakes. #Bluejackets demands remain too rich.

This is not just turning other teams off, but it is also frustrating Nash. This comes to us from Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch.
"The Blue Jackets are holding fast to their lofty trade demands for captain Rick Nash, even as his agent has started applying pressure on general manager Scott Howson to get a deal done before Monday’s NHL trade deadline.
The two parties—Nash and the Blue Jackets—once seemed headed for an amiable split. But the relationship is fraying quickly.
"
The Blue Jackets need to lessen their demands or they will end up stuck with a disenchanted player that is frustrated to still be a member of the team.
They have as much interest as they are going to get. They simply need to pick the best offer out there and run with it.
