Andrew Luck Combine: RGIII's Success Won't Knock Luck out of No. 1 Spot
To most people's surprise—or perhaps not to some—Baylor Bears' quarterback Robert Griffin III outshined Stanford Cardinal, and assumed No. 1 pick, Andrew Luck at this year's NFL Draft Combine. Even though the results would make you think different, Luck is still the obvious choice for the Indianapolis Colts at the top spot.
Griffin is clearly an athletic freak, but it still doesn't stand that he is a better quarterback overall. Luck had a great combine workout, despite deciding to not throw the ball. Many knew he wasn't exactly a speedster, but his 4.67 in the 40-yard dash was quite impressive.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
RGIII blew everyone out of the water with his 4.41 time, which will make it rather hard for teams in the 2-6 range to pass him up, but that number still isn't great enough to overshadow the ability that Luck possesses.
Luck also fell short to RGIII in the vertical jump category but only by three inches, as the former Bears' QB scored a 39" leap.
Luck did take the cake in one category—the broad jump. He beat out Griffin with a 10'4" leap, which was four inches better than what his biggest competitor was able to do.
The one place where Luck certainly beat out Griffin in every category was the elusive drills, as in the three-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle. Luck placed in the Top Five for both categories, while Griffin didn't even place within the Top 10.
That was surprising considering RGIII is rather elusive, but it proved that Luck has much better instincts.
When it is all said and done, the most important factor is how these two performed on the field this past season.
Both had great years, but Luck has been consistently stronger in terms of success.
Luck has taken the Cardinal to back-to-back BCS bowl games, despite his team losing this year's Fiesta Bowl.
The Colts know what kind of quarterback they need to potentially replace or follow Peyton Manning's success, and that is what type of player Luck is.
It is clear that we have two top-caliber quarterbacks entering this year's draft, but after watching the combine, nobody's mind has likely changed.
