NFL Combine 2012: Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III Put on Show
Before the workouts commence and the real measuring begins, the two biggest names in the draft hit the podium, and they won.
Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III spoke with reporters on Friday, a task that means a great deal more than most press conferences.
In a year, both players will speak with reporters, but it will only really matter to a certain local demographic. On Friday, their demeanor and charisma spoke volumes.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
These are two men that will get the keys to a certain franchise. The fact that we are uncertain of their immediate futures means scouts hang on every word as much as they do with every 40-yard dash time.
Jeff Darlington of NFL.com reports from the combine and went so far as to say both quarterback hopefuls oozed charisma.
Griffin was met with whimsical questions that he fired back at with a folksy demeanor that you can't help but get wrapped up into.
Reporters wanted to know about his socks, and what he was wearing today and why. Per the report:
"I've got Ninja Turtles on today. It started my sophomore year in high school. I wasn't one that really matched all that well. That's why the socks usually never match anything I'm wearing.
It's to show I'm comfortable with who I am, I'm comfortable in my own skin. The socks are just a representation of that.
"
That kind of answer speaks volumes. You hardly want a franchise player that gets rattled in something as simple as a press conference.
RG3 is that player that you want to see on the field and then listen to right after to understand what he did or why he did it. This is the kind of player fans fall in love with.
The Colts' decision is still pretty simple though, as presumptive overall first pick Andrew Luck exuded just as much confidence.
The elephant in the room was Peyton Manning, and Luck did his best to answer that in a cool and collected manner:
"Peyton was my hero growing up. He was my football hero. That's who I modeled myself after in high school, middle school, whatever it was. You never truly replace a guy like that. And who knows what happens? So many different things can happen. I'm not thinking about it too much right now.
"
Both players will opt not to throw this weekend, but there is still a lot to glean from the other events they take part in, including Friday's presser.
Every last aspect of how they conduct themselves is weighed and measured. On Friday, both proved they are still above the competition.
