Pacquiao vs. Bradley: Pacquiao Won't Retire, Still Wants Mayweather

Justin TateFeb 24, 2012

Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KO) told the media at a press conference in New York that his upcoming fight with Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KO) will not be his last.

Fight Hype reports Pacquiao saying the following:

"

My kids, the youngest one, he's 11 years old and he said, "Daddy, I  want you to retire, but you know, before you retire, I have one request...you fight Mayweather and you beat him."

That adds Pacquiao's son to the never-ending list of fans who want to see Pacquiao face the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO). Pacquiao also said he could go two or three more fights.

Since Pacquiao has fought twice a year for the past three years, that would leave one more fight to end 2012 after the match with Bradley and possibly two fights in 2013 to cap off Pacquiao's career.

If the long-awaited Pacquiao vs. Mayweather is to happen, it seems the window is between 2012 and 2013. Pacquiao and Bradley will fight at the MGM Grand on HBO pay-per-view June 9.

Mayweather fights Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30 KO) on May 5 also at the MGM Grand and on HBO PPV.

Fans will look forward to negotiations between Team Mayweather and Team Pacquiao continuing following Pacquiao's next fight.
