2012 NFL Free Agents: New York Giants and Teams That Won't Make a Splash
Finding free agents worth signing during the offseason is a tricky task for NFL teams. Since there are so few impact players available and a bunch of teams looking for upgrades, the prices inevitably become bloated beyond belief.
That's why there's always a set of teams that decide to avoid the fray. For a myriad of reasons, certain franchises would rather seek other options to fill needs rather than overpaying for a veteran who will struggle to live up to the hype anyway.
With that in mind, here are three teams that won't make a major splash in this season's free-agent market.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
New York Giants
There aren't many holes to fill for the Giants coming off their second Super Bowl triumph in four years. Issues the team thought they might have to address in the offseason were fixed during a late charge, leaving New York in good shape heading into next season.
If anything, they could use another defensive back or two to sure up that rotation, but that can easily be done through the draft. It's one of the deepest cornerback classes in years, meaning a very talented player should still be on the board at the end of Round 1.
It all adds up to a quiet summer for the champions. They'll still be contenders next season, so there's no reason to overspend.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have more on their plate heading into the offseason than any other team. Between the Peyton Manning drama, big names like Reggie Wayne and Robert Mathis with expiring contracts and working in a rookie quarterback, it's going to be a whirlwind in Indianapolis.
That doesn't leave much time, or money, to pursue free-agent options. The Colts have always been a franchise that prefers to take care of their own by re-signing players instead of chasing replacements on the market. The same will likely be true in 2012—aside from Manning.
Even though the Colts will take the field with some fresh faces next season, it won't be because they spent big on free agents.
Buffalo Bills
It's been more than a decade since the Bills made the playoffs, so you'd think they would be willing to do whatever it takes to end that drought. Not so much. They reportedly aren't even going to use the franchise tag to keep star receiver Stevie Johnson.
Buffalo is in a vicious circle right now. The Bills don't re-sign their own marquee free agents, instead opting to replace them with cheaper options in the draft. Once those players develop into solid contributors, however, they let them go as well.
There's no reason to believe the Bills will change their approach this offseason and start signing all kinds of players. Until something changes, though, the franchise will continue to struggle mightily.
