Erin Andrews' New Gig, Ryan Braun's Lost Cup: BR5 2/24
Welcome to BR5—your source for sports and pop culture news.
Today's episode of BR5 gets you up-to-date on everything from Ryan Braun pissing off the MLB to Erin Andrews' love life.
NL MVP Braun gets to keep his title, and piss off Major League Baseball. Literally. Braun became the first MLB player to win an appeal disputing steroid charges, and it seems its all because the league temporarily misplaced that one key ingredient to his test. Apparently, the "collector" missed the last FedEx drop off and had to keep Braun's urine sample in his fridge for a whole weekend before being able to send it back. Since MLB violated their own testing procedures, Braun won his appeal.
ESPN's Andrews might be joining forces with a rival team. The lovable sideline reporter was spotted out on a date in Atlanta with Fox Sports commentator and former Dallas Cowboys QB Troy Aikman. While neither have confirmed they're an item, the two were first spotted together at a party over Super Bowl weekend.
Andrews was also spotted all over her girl crush Brooklyn Decker that weekend as well. Hopefully she'll be able to break the news to Decker lightly. But, we're more worried how Joe Buck will take this.
NBA All-Star weekend is upon us, so if you couldn't score tickets and didn't get an invite to Vince Carter's 30-grand-a-plate fundraising dinner, you can always party with Dennis Rodman, assuming you've got 10 bucks to spare. The Worm hosted "Dennis Rodman's All-Star Weekend Casino Cruise" on Thursday evening. Ten dollars was able to get you on the ship and enabled you to "play" with the Hall of Famer and his crew.
Mikhail Prokhorov is not only No. 32 on Forbes billionaire list with $18 billion, he also owns the New Jersey Nets and is a closet MC. Perhaps suffering from some sort of rap envy of fellow Nets owner Jay-Z, or a midlife crisis, Prokhorov has decided to be a microphone-controlling hip hop lyricist. Here's what's cool about being a billionaire: even if you decide to embarrass yourself by rapping badly in a large room on camera, people will still cheer you on.
A Welsh half marathon was sabotaged by a "Malicious individual." Yahoo Sports reports that a prankster switched up signs meant to mark the race route for the long distance run. Because of this, the race ended up being only 11.5 miles instead of the regulation 13.1. Race Chairman David Alun Williams said he has no idea why anyone would do this.
