Davonte Neal Announcement: What You Need to Know About Top Undecided Recruit

Randy ChambersJun 7, 2018

National signing day is usually were the nation's top recruits end up making the decision on where they'd like to play their college ball. But some players need a little bit more time than that to decide. After all, it is a decision that will impact the rest of their lives.

There is only one top recruit left on the board, and we've been waiting for him to make a decision for the last several weeks now. We finally have all of the information and a decision on where he will end up is coming sooner than later.

Here is everything you need to know about Davonte Neal, who is the top recruit remaining in the 2012 class.

Who: Davonte Neal, 4-star wide receiver from Scottsdale, Ariz. He went to Chaparral High School.

What: He's not only one of the top players at his position, but is a difference-maker on the defensive side of the ball as well. Whether he gets slotted as a wide receiver or cornerback remains to be seen. With his speed, he could also be a great return man.

When: Neal will make his decision on Feb. 21 at 9 a.m.

Where: The decision will be made at Kyrene Esperanza Elementary School in Phoenix. It's the same elementary school Neal attended when he was a youngster.

Teams Involved: Neal had offers from nearly every school in the country, but has narrowed down the list to Notre Dame, North Carolina, Arizona and Arkansas.

Odds: You can click for the odds here, but I consider Arizona the favorite, with North Carolina and Notre Dame right behind the Wildcats. This commitment could really go any way, but I think he's going to stay in Arizona.

Neal is actually from Scottsdale, which happens to be less than a two-hour car ride away from the Arizona campus. We know Neal likes how Rich Rodriguez plans to use him, and in his system he could stand out. And with several Wildcats players leaving, he'll have the chance to make an immediate impact.

His best friend and former teammate Cody Ippolito has already committed to the Wildcats, and his former high school coach Charlie Ragle is now an assistant on Arizona's staff.
