Key Injuries
Injury information via ESPN.com

What They're Saying
Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times talks about Derek Fisher's incredible shrinking role with the team.
"The veteran Lakers guard played 25 minutes Friday against Phoenix after logging only 19 in each of the previous two games, completing his lowest three-game total since November 2006, when he was with Utah.
Lakers Coach Mike Brown has had the Talk with Fisher, telling him he might not finish games as often this season. Along with that would be a decrease in playing time.
"
"Yeah, I talked to him," Brown said Friday. "Before Steve Blake got hurt, [Blake] was finishing games for us. I just felt that's the direction that I needed to go with this team."
In the Chicago Sun-Times, Bob Baum talks about the incomprable Steve Nash.
"The Phoenix Suns are a shadow of the frenetic scoring machine they were a few years ago. Maybe that makes the season Steve Nash is having all the more impressive.
Not surrounded by an abundance of talent, on a team that stood 12-18 going into Friday night’s game against the Lakers in Los Angeles, Nash leads the league in assists at 10.7 and is the top shooter among guards at 56 percent. That’s third overall among players at any position and would be his career best if it holds up for the season.
On his 38th birthday, Feb. 7, Nash had 11 assists and 18 points, including the game-winning layup with five seconds to go, in a 107-105 win at Milwaukee. For the eighth time in his 16-year NBA career, he made the All-Star Game.
"
Most Important Player to Watch: Kobe Bryant
The Lakers and Suns have played twice this year. Bryant is averaging 42 points in those two games. In their meeting on Friday, Kobe had 36 points, nine rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block.
Bryant has always enjoyed success against the Suns, and this year is no different.
Key Matchup: Suns vs. Kobe
Somehow, someway, Phoenix needs to find a way to slow down Kobe. They obviously don't have a defender that can do it one-on-one. So this is going to have to be a team effort.
Even if it means leaving open and easy looks for other players, Phoenix should try something different. They can't keep getting destroyed the same way over and over again.
Prediction: Lakers 107, Suns 98
Phoenix will get destroyed the same way. I know what I just said, but the same could have been said leading up to their last game or the game before that, and yet they just keep rolling out with the same strategy.
It would be foolish to expect any different until we see any different.
