UFC: 10 Fighters We Would Pay to See No Matter What
When it comes to MMA, there are some fighters who are worth the pay-per-view price by themselves.
It's no coincidence that some of the most popular fighters in the sport are the most exciting fighters.
With all due respect to Georges St-Pierre and Rashad Evans, their fights are normally high profiled, but most of the time they fail to leave a lasting effect.
This is a slideshow dedicated to those fighters who have been in some of the most memorable wars in MMA history, and they very rarely let the crowd down.
10. Clay Guida
1 of 10Clay Guida is a workhorse inside the Octagon.
The guy has one gear, and it's full speed ahead.
Guida's unrelenting style has led to classics with fighters like Diego Sanchez, Roger Huerta and Ben Henderson.
Guida's style mimics his hair in the cage—out of control and all over the place.
9. Dominick Cruz
2 of 10Say what you will about this guy not finishing fights, but no one can deny that Dominick Cruz's style is entertaining to watch.
Cruz dashes in and out with his speed and athletic ability, and he throws crazy kick-and-punch combinations.
Cruz sets an incredible pace that few bantamweights can keep up with, and any time Cruz is in there mixing it up, you're almost guaranteed to get your money's worth.
8. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
3 of 10Though Quinton "Rampage" Jackson might be past his prime, his fights are still fun to watch.
In Japan during the Pride days, Jackson built a reputation for having the most devastating slams in MMA, and in the UFC, he holds some of the most memorable knockouts in the history of the company.
And who could forget his wars with Wanderlei Silva in Pride?
His knockout over Chuck Liddell at UFC 71 was a changing of the guard-type knockout, and his knockout over Silva at UFC 92 was complete devastation.
With Jackson losing to Jon Jones at UFC 135, it sounds like he's going to go back to his exciting style that made him famous, and that's enough to bring a smile to any hardcore MMA fan's face.
7. Anthony Pettis
4 of 10Anthony Pettis is known for his "showtime kick" that he pulled off against Ben Henderson, but the guy was putting on exciting fights way before that moment ever happened.
If you haven't seen Pettis' fights with Danny Castillo, Shane Roller and Alex Karalexis in the WEC, go watch those fights right now. Pettis showcases a style that integrates a variety of kicks, and it is so fun to watch him pull them off inside the cage.
Even in his loss to Clay Guida, he went for two crazy kicks, and in his fight with Joe Lauzon at UFC 144, he just might pull off another incredible kick.
6. Urijah Faber
5 of 10If you like guys who go out and throw caution to the wind, then more than likely you're a Urijah Faber fan.
Faber nonstop presses forward, and that's one reason why he became so popular in the WEC.
Most recently, his rematch with Dominick Cruz was a five-round classic.
The fight was so great that the rubber match between the two that will take place next year should be able to sell the card on its own.
5. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
6 of 10When you look up warrior in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
Just in case anyone doubted that, Rua proved it in his last fight against Dan Henderson, when he showed the heart of a champion and put on a legendary performance.
Like every fighter on this list, Rua stalks his prey and continues to push forward no matter what. It's simply in Rua's DNA.
4. Diego Sanchez
7 of 10Diego Sanchez is a wild man.
Sanchez is the only guy I could think of that would change his nickname from "the nightmare" to "the dream," but hey, that's why we love the guy.
Just about every Sanchez fight is a good fight, and my personal favorites have been his scraps with Nick Diaz, Clay Guida and Martin Kampmann.
3. Leonard Garcia
8 of 10If you're not a Leonard Garcia fan, then you're not a fight fan.
Garcia isn't the most technical fighter in the UFC by any means, but he's incapable of being in a boring fight.
Always putting the pressure on his opponent and constantly throwing hay-maker after hay-maker, Garcia never leaves a stone unturned.
Garcia's clash with Chan Sung Jung is arguably one of the best fights in MMA history, and that's a perfect example of what Garcia is capable of.
2. Nick Diaz
9 of 10Nick Diaz refuses to be in a boring fight.
Even in his last fight with Carlos Condit at UFC 143, Condit circled around, and Diaz continued to press forward while verbally abusing him.
That's just what Diaz does.
If his opponent isn't willing to engage, Diaz taunts him and makes him engage. With fighters wanting to come in and steal fights by doing just enough to win the majority of the rounds, it's so refreshing to watch a guy like Diaz work in the ring.
1. Wanderlei Silva
10 of 10It doesn't matter how old Wanderlei Silva gets or how weak his chin becomes, I'll always buy his fight.
No matter who he fought in Pride or the UFC, Silva always made sure to please the fans with his wild and chaotic style, and everyone loved him for it.
After enduring so many wars in Pride and the UFC, Silva showed at UFC 139 that he's still willing to throw down with anybody in the cage, as he stopped Cung Le in another Wanderlei classic.
UFC 139 was a perfect example of why Silva is regarded as the most exciting fighter in MMA history.
