Peyton Manning Rumors: Why Texans Fans Shouldn't Expect to See No. 18 in Houston
When a player of Peyton Manning's caliber is headed for the market, people have a way of finding some way, any way, that he could land with their team.
We've seen that recently with Manning and the Houston Texans. Apparently some believed that Manning was actually a possibility for the Texans.
Well, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle shot down those rumors on Tuesday, and I'm glad he did.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McClain wrote:
"Think about the Texans’ offense.
That’s not Manning’s offense. He doesn’t roll out and throw the boot. He’s a pocket passer. Manning will go to a team that plays the same offense and is willing for him to basically run it because that’s what he did so well with the Colts until his three neck operations.
So forget about Manning coming to the Texans. It’s not going to happen.
"
Every time I hear logic like this, I breathe a sigh of relief. There are so many bogus rumors out there in the sports world that it's nice when a reputable reporter slams the door shut once and for all.
Besides Manning not fitting in the Texans offense, they also have Matt Schaub, remember. As I recall, he was doing just fine before getting injured last season.
Schaub threw for 2,479 yards and 15 touchdowns to six interceptions in 10 games last season. The Texans went 7-3 with him under center and averaged 27.3 points per game.
And this wasn't just some flash in the pan—Schaub had two very good seasons before that, too.
There's also the fact that, well, Schaub isn't coming off three neck surgeries and isn't 35 years old. McClain also reports that Schaub is ahead of schedule in his rehab from foot surgery.
It's only natural for people to dream about a future Hall of Famer joining their team, but, as we all know, sometimes dreams are unrealistic and don't make any sense.
