EPL Bad Boys: 5 Players That Need to Leave England

Nathan JudahJun 2, 2018

Another controversial weekend of Premier League action has left more questions than answers as "toxic" players continue to disrespect and embarrass the English game.

Managers repeatedly find ridiculous excuses to justify their assets but there comes a time when social interaction off the field becomes more important than talent on the pitch.

These players are supposed role-models in today's society, people youngsters idolise and look up to. But their actions speak louder than words and those actions continue to tarnish the league, the country and the sport.

These five players need to leave English football.

5) Christopher Samba: Blackburn Rovers

Steve Kean has shown amazing integrity with the way he has dealt with the constant abuse and speculation from both fans and media this season.

The team has been incredibly tight and supported their manager through thick and thin until the captain of the club goes on strike during January, refusing to play for the relegation threatened team until he gets a move away.

A quite astonishing reaction from the Congolese defender brought widespread condemnation from his team-mates as arguably their best player trained on his own away from the first team squad.

Samba did not get his move and will be at the Midlands cub until the end of the season. Clear the air talks with Kean do not seem to have gone to plan and the 27-year-old is yet to make an appearance since Jan 2.

4) Joey Barton: QPR

2 of 5

This entry will come as no surprise. Barton is rarely out of the headlines and has just completed a three match ban after being sent off in 2-1 defeat at Norwich last month.

It was the fifth dismissal of a blemished career that is continuing to be marred by controversy both on and off the pitch.

Even when things seem to have settled down, the 29-year-old continually feels the need to twitter extremely controversial comments that land him with constant fines with the FA, his latest rant concerned the upcoming racism court trial with John Terry.

3) John Terry: Chelsea

The captain of one of the world's biggest clubs must act with dignity and class at all times—John Terry has consistently done neither.

The first man to lose the England captaincy twice, Terry's career has been constantly marred with a series of public fall-outs that have harmed club and country on plenty of occasions.

Currently charged with using racist language by the crown prosecution service, the 31-year-old will go to court after the European Championships to defend his actions.

He was stripped of the England captaincy by Fabio Capello back in February 2010 amid an alleged extra marital affair with then team-mate Wayne Bridge's partner.

The defender was re-instated the following year only to lose the armband again last week after the Football Association deemed his pending court trial serious enough to make the change.

2) Carlos Tevez: Manchester City

4 of 5

The talent he quite clearly has on the pitch is not anywhere close to the lack of class he has off it.

This season Carlos Tevez has embarrassed himself, his club and the EPL.

The controversy started after the Argentinean allegedly refused to come off the bench in a Champions League game with Bayern Munich back in September 2011.

Public condemnation followed and after a series of fines and disputes between Tevez, Manchester City and the Player's Football Association were settled, the forward went on strike and flew back to Argentina waiting for a transfer to materialise in January.

There were no takers and Tevez is scheduled to be on an aeroplane back to Manchester within the next 24 hours.

Despite being vilified by the British press and his actions, Tevez saw fit to give an exclusive interview to Argentian TV on Monday where he described manager Roberto Manchini to have treated him 'like a dog'.

Toxic Rating - 5/5

1) Luis Suarez: Liverpool

5 of 5

Does anyone want this player to remain in English football?

Quite simply, a disgrace to Liverpool Football Club, Luis Suarez easily tops this list.

The Uruguay international was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra following their clash with Manchester United back in October 2011.

He was given an eight match ban and ordered to pay a $60,000 fine.

Despite only arriving in January 2010, the 25-year-old had already been warned by the FA following an alleged gesture made to Fulham fans last December.

Suarez sat out the eight games and returned to Old Trafford on Saturday but amazingly refused to shake Evra's hand after the Frenchman quite clearly offered it despite being the victim of the ordeal.

Suarez has since apologised but the damage has already been done and an exit out of England this summer seems the only logical step.
