Why New England Patriots, Bill Belichick Must Do Smart Thing, Ignore Randy Moss
I don't expect the New England Patriots to even flirt with the idea of Randy Moss, and they'd be making the smart move by leaving the legendary wide receiver alone.
For many reasons.
To begin, although there's a great deal of respect on both sides, this no longer is a match made in heaven.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Yes, the Patriots are in dire need of a deep-threat at receiver.
With a guy that can take the top off the defense and stretch the field, imagine the damage Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez could do down the seam.
Don't forget about Wes Welker underneath, either.
However, Moss was essentially a one-trick pony his entire NFL career—a prolific one at that.
His deceptive speed sprung by his immensely long strides, along with his 6'4'', 210-pound body, made him the most devastating big-play receiver in the modern era.
He's not that guy anymore.
In the almost embarrassing fiasco of 2010 that saw him start with the Patriots, Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans, the loss of his once-transcendent speed was apparent.
Moss caught 16 passes with five touchdowns and was essentially invisible all season.
Now, at 35, after sitting out a year, Moss wants to return to the NFL?
So be it.
New England already reaped the benefits of Moss, but it's unlikely he's the same guy anymore.
The Patriots, or any team for that matter, would be much better suited looking elsewhere for speed at the wide receiver spot.
