Notre Dame Recruiting 2013: The Irish's Way-Too-Early Wish List
The Irish are coming off a solid year on the trail, as Brian Kelly now has firmly entrenched his way of things in South Bend. Notre Dame had a top 10-caliber class in 2012 and will look to continue to add speed an athleticism to their roster.
I'm just going to give out a few prospects that could be on their early wish list for 2013 recruiting. Names are still being gathered and evaluations are still yet to be fully made, but prospects are emerging slowly already.
Already Committed: Steven Elmer, OT
1 of 6Elmer is kind of a poor man's John Theus. He's 6'6", almost 300 pounds and can play both OT spots.
He lacks Theus' mean streak and finish ability, but his length, low pad level, snap quickness and knee bend should make him a solid OT in college.
He's the Irish's first pledge for 2013.
5. Eli Woodard, CB
2 of 6The Irish have recruited New Jersey through the years, so Woodard will be a prime stop this spring. He's a 6'0", 185-pound CB with elite athleticism and cover corner potential.
4. Ethan Pocic, OL
3 of 6Pocic is a 6'6", 280-pound OL from Illinois that has a good amount of interest in Notre Dame. He likely will take a spring trip to South Bend to view spring workouts.
Pocic has solid fluidity in his movement, can play RT or OG and will work each snap. He can maul in the run game and get nasty.
3. Alquadin Muhammad, DE
4 of 6In 2012 recruiting, Notre Dame signed Don Bosco Prep (NJ) DB/OLB Elijah Shumate. In 2013, Notre Dame hopes to sign Shumate's teammate, Alquadin Muhammad.
Muhammad is a 6'3", 230-pound DE/OLB type that can rush the passer, set the edges and be a havoc wrecker on defense. The Irish have offered already.
2. Adam Breneman, TE
5 of 6With the success of Kyle Rudolph and Tyler Eifert in recent years, ND is looking to add to that. Ben Koyack is on the roster but another pass-catching threat is needed at the TE spot.
Adam Breneman is that potential guy. He's a natural pass catcher and stands 6'5", 220 pounds. The Irish have offered and view him as a big-time prospect.
1. Ricky Seals-Jones, WR
6 of 6With Michael Floyd departing to the NFL this year, the Irish will need to add some more size to the WR corps. Losing 6'3" Deontay Greenberry to Houston on NSD was a blow for this reason, among others.
Seals-Jones is a 6'5", 215-pound Texan with good ball skills, solid speed and a large catch radius. He would work very well in the Irish spread offense and would give Gunner Kiel a large long-term target.
