ANALYSIS: Best Short-Term Move

22 of 23

Thierry Henry (Arsenal)

Bringing a legendary player like Henry back to Arsenal on a loan was a great call for the Gunners.

Not only did Henry have an immediate impact on the club by scoring a match-winning goal in an FA Cup game against Leeds in his first appearance back with the Gunners, but his veteran presence on the team is priceless.

He may not have the talent that he once had that can propel the Gunners to the top of the EPL table, but his genuine love for the club and commitment can only bring a positive vibe to the club.

ANALYSIS: Best Long-Term Moves

23 of 23

Papiss Cisse (Newcastle)

The 26-year-old Senegalese striker has exciting potential for the EPL. Cisse has performed at an elite level in the Bundesliga, scoring 24 goals in 34 appearances for SC Freiburg.

Cisse has the potential to be a big impact player for Newcastle and has the aptitude to send the club into the Top 3 of the EPL table.

Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

After a successful stretch at Bolton, Cahill’s transfer to Chelsea is huge for the Blues. The 26-year-old Brit has the ability to play the same role that John Terry has played for Chelsea in his excellent tenure with the club.

Cahill is a no-nonsense defender who is a serious offensive threat as well, which fits in perfectly with Chelsea’s style.

This was an excellent long-term acquisition for the Blues

Kevin De Bruyne (Chelsea)

You won’t be seeing De Bruyne on the pitch at Stamford Bridge for a while, as he is on a loan with his former club, Racing Genk in Belgium.

However, once he’s on the pitch and accustomed to Premier League soccer, De Bruyne will be huge for Chelsea. He’s still got some tweaks to work out as he adjusts to the professional game, but he’s got sheer potential.

The 20-year-old Belgian has shown some crafty ball control, and is a great long-term pickup for Chelsea.
