January Transfer News: Pavlyuchenko, Tevez and More
The January transfer window has been a fairly quiet one. Most of the clubs remained quiet, and there were almost no marquee signings.
One of the bigger pieces of news is that out of favor Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has finally left White Hart Lane to join Lokomotiv Moscow for a fee believed to be around £8 million.
Pavlyuchenko joined Spurs from Spartak Moscow in August 2008 for a fee believed to be £14 million, and he has often been a polarizing figure at the Spurs camp. During his time he amassed 42 goals in 113 appearances.

Spurs sanctioned a move for him after Louis Saha was successfully signed on a free transfer from Everton. Saha was let go by David Moyes after bringing in striker Nikica Jelavic from Rangers FC on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Saha, although aging, is still a good backup striker to have on the bench, given that the club only functions with two key strikers in Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe.
In other news, Roberto Mancini has hinted that Carlos Tevez could still feature for Manchester City.
The news does come as bit of a shock, as Mancini had stated that Tevez would never play for him given his disciplinary problems that culminated in the Champions League match against Bayern München.
Manchester City were unable to offload Tevez as talks between AC Milan, Inter Milan and PSG broke down.
After the defeat at Everton, perhaps Mancini realized the need for attacking options and ferocious play which Carlos Tevez is well known to provide. The only concern that remains is how his fitness levels are.
Mancini stated:
""Carlos is not an option at the moment but it is possible in the future if he comes back...I hope for him he has been training in the last three months to help his condition. There is only one thing on my mind, the Barclays Premier League."
"
What do you think about the return of Tevez? Is it a good thing for Manchester City? Does it make Roberto Mancini look weak?
