National Signing Day 2012: Does Florida State or Alabama Have the No. 1 Class?
Alabama and Florida State are going to be national contenders in college football for the foreseeable future.
Both schools have hauled in absurd amounts of talent and potential as a part of their 2012 recruiting classes.
Florida State fans have been excited for a long time about the pending commitment of 5-star defensive end Mario Edwards. They are even more excited after today with Eddie Goldman's commitment to Seminole nation.
The Crimson Tide have not had a Goldman-esque signing on national signing day, but their depth has been established for weeks on the 2012 recruiting trail.
Both classes are stacked, but whose is better?

Florida State's National Signing Day Action
3 of 5Florida State has received commitments from 5-star quarterback Jameis Winston, 5-star defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, 3-star outside linebacker Reggie Northrup and 3-star cornerback Colin Blake today.
The headliners are Winston and Goldman. Both are ranked in the top five overall.
Winston is an electric dual-threat quarterback. He will not sign his letter of intent until Friday, but according to Winston, he is a Seminole.
Goldman will join forces with dominant defensive end Mario Edwards to form the best one-two punch on any defensive line over the next few seasons.
These two commitments alone make it an eventful day in Tallahassee.
Alabama's National Signing Day Action
4 of 5Alabama's National Signing Day has been somewhat uneventful outside of two commitments from 4-star defensive tackles, Dalvin Tomlinson and Korren Kirven.
Both players will add great depth to Alabama's front three next season. They add two significant names to a stacked group of prospects set to enter Tuscaloosa next season.
Nick Saban is always a threat to bring in a top five recruiting class.
This season has shown to be no different, and he is not done yet.
Whose Class Is Better?
5 of 5There is not a wrong answer to this question, but the slight edge goes to Alabama at this point.
The Seminoles boast Mario Edwards, Eddie Goldman, Jameis Winston and Mario Pender. All are 5-star prospects and will have excellent careers in Seminole uniforms.
However, Alabama's class is deeper and not far behind in terms of talent.
Reggie Ragland fills an immediate hole at middle linebacker, and Landon Collins does the same job in the defensive backfield. Fellow 5-star prospect Cyrus Jones will give the Tide a a dynamic presence on offense.
The propensity of 4-star prospects reined in by Nick Saban and Alabama is amazing, and that is what gives the Tide the edge.
Given Saban's ability to develop talent these 4-star players could wind up being 5-star talents by the time they leave Alabama.
The Seminoles boast more star power, but Alabama boasts ridiculous depth.
