Liverpool Transfer News: Reds' Stopper Pick-Ups Makes Team Better Long Term
Kenny Dalglish's proactive signings of two young goalkeepers proves he's always one step ahead. Dalglish demonstrated a quick trigger by snagging 18-year-old Danny Ward from Wrexham and moving in on Kristoffer Nordfeldt of Sweden. Ward is currently from a U-19 squad and Nordfeldt from a U-21 club, and the added youth is needed for the Premier League campaign.
Liverpool has some work to do if they are to ascend to that level, though. Right now, they are only seventh in the Premier League standings.
Dalglish was smart to shore up the goalkeeper's group, especially since 21-year-old goalkeepers Martin Hansen is expected to leave Liverpool for Viborg. Liverpool will be able to absorb Hansen's loss with the Ward and the potential Nordfeldt signing. Both players are expected to be added to the reserves, but Ward especially could see some time shortly.

Ward , who was acquired for a fee in the neighborhood of £100,000, has yet to play for Wrexham. His acquisition is certainly the bigger of the two Liverpool transactions.
Ward has tremendous potential, but Wrexham boss Andy Morrell would love to use that Liverpool cash to shore up his club. Ward is Wrexham-born, but he will embrace the opportunity to play top-flight football, and he wasn't getting that shot with Wrexham.
Ward showed the potential that attracted Liverpool in a one-off loan to Tamworth last year. In that his senior debut, he won Man of the Match.
Norfeldt would not be as ballyhooed of a acquisition, but he has more experience than Ward. He has had 17 appearances for the Sweden National Team, but only one this season.
These two may not be able to help save Liverpool this year, but they will certainly strengthen the club moving forward.
