WWE News: Reported Plans for Kane vs. John Cena at Elimination Chamber Revealed
The outcome of Kane vs. John Cena at the 2012 Royal Rumble left a lot of WWE fans in a rather foul mood.
The match ended in a double countout, which is a TV-worthy finish that fans don’t like to see on pay-per-view, especially a “Big Four” one.
Regardless of how we feel, though, the creative team protected Cena like usual this Sunday by having him avoid a clean pin and a loss, leading many to believe that we’ll get some more from this Kane/Cena feud down the road.

As it turns out, we will.
"Talk at last night's Royal Rumble pay-per-view was that there will be a big payoff angle between Kane and John Cena at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view next month.
"
That big payoff? Well, it’s expected to be a gimmick match, according to the Wrestling Observer (via WrestlingInc.com):
"WWE officials are contemplating holding a Last Standing Man between John Cena and Kane at next month's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event. The two will be competing in the stipulated match at upcoming live events.
"
Well, duh. I think many of us saw this coming a mile away.
The feud between Kane and Cena has been relegated largely to backstage brawls and fighting, so it’s not really much of a surprise that these two are likely going to compete in a Last Man Standing match because it will help the creative team protect Cena once again.
It’s a lot easier to have Cena lose a Last Man Standing match and look strong because someone can interfere and cost him the bout or something along those lines, and I’m sure that’s what creative is thinking here.
Heading toward WrestleMania and Cena’s match with The Rock, there’s not a chance in hell that Cena is going to lose clean as he attempts to build up momentum before the biggest pay-per-view of the year.
That actually makes sense because you don’t want to have Cena lose clean a month-and-a-half before he’s supposed to beat The Rock. But it just adds to the hatred fans have for Cena, and it will make Kane look weak if he needs some help to beat “The Champ.”
Oh well. I should expect nothing less at this point.
