Super Bowl Commercials 2012: Best Ads to Watch for on Super Sunday

Ryan RudnanskyJun 7, 2018

As much as most of us hate commercials, Super Bowl Sunday is the one day of the year where we generally appreciate them.

Last year we had some good ones, including Volkswagen's Darth Vader commercial. This year there should surely be some winners, too. Even if the fans of the New England Patriots and New York Giants are at each others throats all game, at least they can share a special moment together when it goes to the commercial break.

Here are some of the best upcoming Super Bowl ads I've seen so far (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT).

Cars.com: "Confident You"

This ad may be a little strange for some people, but it made me laugh and that will probably make me replace my jalopy with a more expensive jalopy on Cars.com.

I think what amused me was the fact that this guy's second head was singing. If I could have a singing second head for a day, I would do that in an instant. I know, it doesn't take much to amuse me.

Chevy: "Happy Grad"

Never overreact, folks, because next thing you know you'll think your parents got you a nice car when they really got you a mini fridge.

This ad is pretty over the top, which is probably why I like it. Plus, nice mini fridges excite me just about as much as nice cars.

Honda: "Matthew's Day Off"

Remember the classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Wanna know what the real-life Matthew Broderick would do today?

Now's your chance.

I enjoyed a few scenes from this extended clip, particularly when Broderick stares in terror at the walrus at the museum (I would have the same reaction), but I think what got me going from the start was that indelible theme track.

Thanks Honda for caring about me.
