Pro Bowl 2012 Roster: Cam Newton and Players Who Make Game Worth Watching
The NFL Pro Bowl is working to find a place in the hearts of fans, but amazing player performances can help build the excitement. A scan of this year's roster shows a few players that have the ability to electrify a crowd with dazzling plays worthy of double and triple-takes.
Cam Newton is certainly one of those players. Whether it's with his amazing mobility, tight end-like strength or big arm, Newton just might pull off an amazing play or two.
Newton was a part of 35 TDs this season, 21 throwing and 14 rushing.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He is a mix of Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Vick. He's still learning the position, but he still finds himself in the Pro Bowl. Newton is used to playing with an explosive offensive weapon in Steve Smith, but he hasn't played with this level of talent all on one team.
Newton can throw it to Smith, Larry Fitzgerald or Roddy White this go-round. With those weapons, you just may see Newton show us the imaginary "S" on his chest.
Here a two other players with the ability to wow us in this year's Pro Bowl:
A.J. Green
Green is a freakish athlete. At 6'5" and with shooting guard-like hops (think Dwyane Wade, not Kyle Korver), Green goes and gets passes like only Calvin Johnson can.
Add into that 4.4 speed, and he is a great bet for a circus catch and run for a TD. He's the rare receiver that can go long or high to get open and burn a team. Green had six plays over 40 yards this season and seven TDs overall.
He may even get the opportunity to catch passes from his own QB, as Andy Dalton was added to the roster for Tom Brady, who has that other game to play in. Whether it's Dalton, Roethlisberger or Philip Rivers, Green will have more than capable facilitators.
Patrick Peterson
Peterson is last, but certainly not least. Peterson's dynamic return ability could explode during the Pro Bowl. He may have a shot at equalling Mel Renfro's TD return record set in 1971. Renfro took two punts back for scores and won the offensive MVP that year for the NFC while playing for the Dallas Cowboys.
Peterson certainly has that type of ability. He tied a rookie record by returning four kicks for TDs this year. Peterson is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and I predict he will be the game's biggest star.
