Orlando Magic's Lame-Duck Leader Dwight Howard Has Got a Lot of Nerve
It makes me cringe that people perceive poor Dwight Howard as having to contend in a "small" market with a supporting cast of marginal talent that makes it difficult to win.
Who said it was going to be easy?
It has become nationally "official" that the wheels have come off and Dwight should be more insistent about being traded.
Wake up everyone, Howard is a lame-duck leader, his campaign in Orlando hasn't paid off and he is withdrawing from the race. Are the campaign workers supposed to bleed for him, too?
Give us a break!
Dwight served the papers.
Dwight wants the divorce.
Why should anybody rally behind him?
Every one of them is on the block. Heck, the better they play, the more likely they are a throw in...a wad of gum on Dwight's sneaker.
Granted, it appears that Dwight Howard is being very professional and leaving it all on the court even though he wants out. Well, that's very...small market of him, I guess.
All that means is that he is not a piece of dirt like too many other spoiled "pros" get to be.
People like Richard DeVos, Otis Smith and Stan Van Gundy should be credited, not punished, for developing Howard and making the franchise one of the most competitive in recent years.
Here's a few hints for you Dwight:
Where ever you land, you are destined to be surrounded by role players, some better, some worse than you already have in your locker room.
You are the difference, you are the center of the strategy.
If you tell your teammates that you are in, they will play hard and the team will win.
Don't be a duck.
