2012 NFL Free Agents: Peyton Hillis and Big-Name RBs Destined for New Teams
There will be a plethora of big names on the NFL free-agent market this offseason, including some quality running backs who could wind up with new teams.
Some may have played themselves off of their current rosters, while others may have earned a newer, bigger contract with another team thanks to some strong play down the stretch.
Whatever the case may be, these big-name free-agent RBs are primed for fresh starts in 2012:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Ryan Grant, Green Bay Packers
Thanks to the emergence of fellow teammate James Starks, veteran Ryan Grant won't be in Green Bay for long. Grant had a disastrous fumble in the Packers' postseason loss to the Giants, and he has shown a knack for making bonehead errors at the wrong time.
Grant was a non-factor the Pack when they won Super Bowl XLV last February, and his production won't be missed. He rushed for 559 yards on 134 carries in 2011, but came up small in Green Bay's only playoff game, rushing for 33 yards on eight attempts en route to ending the team's chances with a crushing turnover.
Isaac Redman, Pittsburgh Steelers
With Rashard Mendenhall back healthy next season in the Steelers' backfield, less-experienced talent Isaac Redman will likely be free to look for a huge contract elsewhere. Redman was Pittsburgh's second-leading rusher in 2011, carrying the ball 110 times for 479 yards.
The 27-year-old scored three times as well on his way to averaging 4.3 yards per carry in what was just his second season in the NFL. Redman has starting quality and showed that with a huge 100-plus-yard effort against the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card round.
Peyton Hillis, Cleveland Browns
This change of scenery would come as a shocker to even the casual NFL observer, but don't overlook the strong possibility that the Madden 12 cover boy could be taking snaps in a different backfield next season.
Hillis led the Cleveland Browns in rushing for the past two seasons, but was hardly as dominant in 2011, rushing for just 587 yards on 161 carries—a measly 3.6 yards per carry average.
Considering the 25-year-old Arkansas native rushed for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns just more than a year ago, the Browns might be ready to call Hillis a one-year wonder and move on.
