Fabio Capello Too Strict with Steven Gerrard?
When Steve McLaren was no longer in charge of the England team, everyone rejoiced! Especially me—I was over the moon that he was no longer in charge. Then the nation found out that the newly appointed manager of the country's team was going to be Fabio Capello. Many called him the Godfather of football, and all hoped that he would turn the team around so that England could actually win something.
I once read that Capello insists on his players having tea together because "tea" is a part of team! Well, at the beginning it seems comical and unbelievable, but maybe that makes the team a little stronger.

I think that it’s mainly me, but sometimes you get the feeling that there are still little petty prejudices within the team. These prejudices are brought on from the Premier League and the differences that plague the division.
We all heard that Capello was strict, but could it possibly be that he is too strict?
Take the recent situation with Steven Gerrard. He was charged with assault, however, the situation remains unclear. Still, the newspapers had a field day with it. They made it seem as if Gerrard had been the first footballer to do something bad and wrong, but he isn’t. They made him feel low and like scum for one night’s mistake.
Now, after a situation like that, all a footballer wants to do is get back to the game and get back to normal. He wants to get back to a routine and forget about everything that occurred.
But that is not the case for Capello. There has been speculation that he is thinking about dropping Gerrard for the next friendly, which is against Spain.
No doubt Spain will prove to be a tough opponent, and to honest I believe Spain will be victorious. I also confess that the only reason I watch England play is to see the likes of Gerrard and David Beckham.
Dropping Gerrard for the next game would be a mistake. Not only will that crush all confidence in Gerrard, but I also believe the midfield will not operate as efficiently as it would if he were there.
Capello dropping Gerrard could be seen to be TOO STRICT, as all a footballer wants to do is concentrate on his game. By dropping him it seems as if Capello wants it to be a constant reminder to the Liverpool skipper.
I believe dropping Gerrard would be a costly mistake. Even Capello should be able to see that Gerrard like all of us is only human and is bound to make mistakes. He is not the first footballer to do so, and I am sure he is not going to be the last.
Therefore, Steven Gerrard should play the next England match and Capello should not let one mistake ruin the Liverpool skipper’s chance to make up for his mistakes.
