Washington Football Recruiting: Meet Cyler Miles, the Huskies' Flagship Recruit

Maiah HollanderJun 1, 2018

Husky fans, I present to you Cyler Miles.

Cyler Miles? Meet your adoring public.

In a solid commitment to Washington back in June, Cyler pretty much reaffirmed UW’s status as QBU.

Here’s looking at another strong QB hopeful that has a lot of Husky fans excited about the upcoming seasons from Price and beyond.

Overall

1 of 6

Honestly speaking, this kid could not have been built any better for a QB.

At 6'4" and 220 lbs, Cyler Miles has the height to see downfield in a tight spot, and the weight to make his own path when the time calls for it.

A solid four star rating from Rivals proves he isn’t just for show and the other 13 schools that were after him, including Baylor, Florida and LSU are sorry to see him go.

High School

2 of 6

It doesn’t hurt to have a state 5A title in your back pocket when it comes to recruiting and Cyler Miles was key in leading his Mullen High Mustangs there this past year.

Overall this past season, Miles was 144 of 212 passing, for 2,114 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Not to mention he rushed for 255 yards and six touchdowns.

If that doesn’t get a fan excited I don’t know what will.

Performance in All-Star Game

3 of 6

Of course being this good at school is going to get you places and for Cyler Miles it was the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Miles completed 7 of 8 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for a TD, earning him co-MVP honors along with WR Doral Green-Beckham.

Nick Montana Rides off into the Sunset

4 of 6

With the transfer of redshirt freshman Nick Montana, there is a tantalizing spot open to fill the hole that the graduation of Keith Price will bring.

Granted the competition is still pretty stiff with Jeff Lindquist added to the mix, but Cyler Miles now has a pretty clear idea of who is competition is.

Head Coach Steve Sarkisian has got to be excited about his future prospects for the Dawgs' heir to the QB throne.

Reprieve for Keith Price

5 of 6

It’s no secret that current QB Keith Price has had a rough and tumble 2011 season.

With seemingly no end to knee injury and pressure in the backfield, Price had little chance at a reprieve from the onslaught of opponents’ offenses.

However if Cyler Miles is able to pick up the Husky offense quickly, he may not have to redshirt this season and could very well end up the No. 1 backup behind Price.

This opportunity could lead Miles to be one of the great UW QBs with so much playtime so early in his college career.

Conclusion

6 of 6

No matter how you slice it, Cyler Miles seems to have been born to be a Dawg.

With his great athleticism and zeal for the game, Husky fans are going to have to hold on tight to keep up with this rising star.

He looks good with that "W" on, doesn't he?
