The Craziest Athlete Relatives
We all have crazy relatives, no doubt about it.
Fortunately for most of us, the actions that they take don't make the tabloids like those of our favorite athletes do.
With some of the things their relatives manage to do, many likely wish they could dictate their lives just like they have of their teams.
Still, there is no way around it. These relatives are just crazy.
Jay McGwire
1 of 15Let's get something straight.
You DON'T rat out your own brother!
Well, it seems like Jay McGwire didn't understand this unwritten "bro code." He broke it when he put in a tell-all book that his big brother was taking performance-enhancing drugs during his days in the big leagues.
Not cool.
Andre Aggasi's Dad
2 of 15If any of you have read Andre Agassi's biography Open, then you know of how nuts his father was in terms of raising his son to be the world's greatest tennis player.
Agassi said his father would make his son hit at least 1,000 balls a day, as well as putting his son in situations that would benefit the senior Agassi.
At one point during his youth, Agassi's father pitted him against former Cleveland Browns running back Jim Brown.
Agassi won that match—with ease.
While the senior Agassi wanted to see his son succeed, he made the situation so extreme that Agassi ended up hating the sport that he played his entire life.
Dwyane Wade's Ex-Wife
3 of 15Dwyane Wade's divorce from now ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches was not a pretty one.
At one point in the proceedings, she accused Wade of giving her an STD, eventually demanding that he give all the names of the women he had been with in the past.
She also said he had been a bad father, saying he had not spent any time with their children.
Well, he won custody. What does that tell you?
Marv Marinovich
4 of 15For anyone who saw the ESPN 30 for 30 on former football phenom Todd Marinovich, they know that his father Marv was one wacky dude.
In the documentary, his father admits to stretching his son's hamstrings while he was in the crib.
What!?
Well, things definitely worked out—his son turned out to be one of the greatest athletes to hit the college football field.
Marinovich potentially could have been a NFL stud as well, but persistent drug problems unfortunately brought an end to a promising career.
Kim Kardashian
5 of 15This one can go with two different athletes. Bruce Jenner's step daughter Kim Kardashian is not shy about being in the public eye.
This past August, the reality star tied the knot with New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries. The part that classifies this as crazy is that the marriage only lasted 72 days.
We will have to see if she will fall back to Miami Dolphins star running back Reggie Bush.
Maybe this one will last at least three months.
LeBron James' Mom
6 of 15All right, I am not going to get into rumors about LeBron James' mom and the whole Delonte West thing.
What I can say is that she is crazy to try and start something with at least three Boston Celtics players after they fouled her son.
You can see in the video that James is brought into the crowd, right by where his mom was sitting.
She starts trying to move Kevin Garnett, which leads to James yelling at her to sit down.
Come on, LeBron, she is just being a good mom!
Jeff Gillooly
7 of 15Talk about being faithful.
Jeff Gillooly—who was the husband to former American figure skater Tonya Harding—is notoriously famous for hiring a man named Shane Stant to break rival skater Nancy Kerrigan's leg before the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Even though they failed to actually break her leg, the attack was enough to keep her out of competition.
The two divorced shortly after the incident, but Harding's name has been tarnished ever since.
Little League Parents
8 of 15No relatives are more insane than the ones we already have.
I am sure everyone has been to, or at least witnessed, some parent going crazy at a Little League baseball, football, soccer, basketball game or whatever it may be.
Enjoy this montage of some of the craziest.
JR Smith's Sister
9 of 15Denver Nuggets shooting guard J.R. Smith is currently playing overseas in China, and from the looks of it, his family isn't liking it over there.
While I have no idea what is going on with this situation, apparently Smith's sister became upset that the officials did not make a call when her brother was fouled.
She proceeded to make her way to the court, choking one fan, while pushing another who happened to be 80 years old.
Yeah, I think they ought to make it back the the States soon.
Randy Clemens
10 of 15Roger Clemens, of MLB fame, played with the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays, but had his fair share of problems. Still, he looks like a saint compared to his brother.
His brother Randy has been involved in drugs, which has resulted in "The Rocket" finding as much space between him and his sibling as possible.
Actually, there isn't much to be found of him. According to author Jeff Pearlman, in an excerpt of his book The Rocket That Fell to Earth on Yahoo.com, “Randy Clemens?” says Larry South, once his closest friend. “Randy is a ghost.”
Brandi Favre
11 of 15Living life on the edge must run in the family.
While former Green Bay Packers' star quarterback Brett Favre has faced enough problems with his cell phone usage during his time with the New York Jets, sister Brandi was getting in plenty of trouble on her own.
His younger sis was arrested back in January 2011 on possession of ingredients to make methamphetamine.
No. 4 just can't ever seem to catch a break.
Marcus Vick
12 of 15Michael Vick's younger brother Marcus has never come close to the same level as his older brother, but both had their run-ins with trouble.
While playing at Virginia Tech, Marcus once took his cleat to Elvis Dumervil's knee at the 2006 Gator Bowl.
There was no reason for the action, and it just shows how senseless he was.
While he had a brief pro stint with the Miami Dolphins, his reckless behavior has managed to take him out of the football spotlight.
Mark Ingram Sr.
13 of 15While I am all for seeing your child's greatest accomplishments, I have to call Mark Ingram Sr. crazy for exchanging two more years in prison just to watch his son in the BCS title game.
Mark Ingram Jr. has gone on to play in the NFL, which would have given his father plenty of opportunities to see his son play in big games at the professional level.
But hey, that was his choice.
All I can say is that at least the Alabama Crimson Tide won that game.
Jose Canseco
14 of 15Jose Canseco, twin brother of Ozzie Canseco, was an MLB star who blew the whistle on a ton of his peers to make some money on a book.
Both he and his brother played in the MLB, but Jose found a lot more success than his twin.
His book Juiced was released, and he ratted out former teammates like Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi, Rafael Palmeiro and many other players for using steroids during their time in the MLB.
Considering that everyone knew that he was juicing, he went against an unwritten code in tattling on his former peers.
While he thought he was likely bringing justice to the league, in reality he was just going for a money grab. His actions didn't give others the chance to come forward on their own about their past mistakes.
Cecil Newton
15 of 15Cam Newton's father Cecil is famous for soliciting money for his son's services in a pay-for-play scandal during his college career.
His father was looking for something between $100,000 and $180,000 for his son to transfer to Mississippi State University.
While Newton obviously sided with the Auburn Tigers, it remains to be seen if his father tried to do the same with them.
Newton was never penalized for his father's actions, as he was allowed to finish off the Tigers' perfect season with a victory over the Oregon Ducks.
He went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, as the Carolina Panthers selected him to be the future of their franchise.
