Texans vs. Ravens Highlights: Video Recap from Sunday's Game
The Houston Texans traveled to Baltimore to take on the Ravens and their vaunted defense, with the winner moving on to the AFC Championship Game.
The Texans were riding high after the first playoff win in franchise history, while the Ravens were excited to host a playoff game for the first time under John Harbaugh.
With two stellar defenses playing, the game promised to be hard-hitting and defensive, and this game did not disappoint.
With a stellar defensive effort, the Baltimore Ravens held on to win, 20-13, moving on to play the Patriots for a trip to the Super Bowl.
Arian Foster's Big Day
1 of 9With every analyst projecting a rough day for Arian Foster, his dominating performance was especially surprising.
Foster consistently ripped off big gains, running both inside and outside.
His performance alone was enough to keep the Texans in the game, and his touchdown was key in keeping the Texans within striking distance.
Jacoby Jones Fumble Gives Ravens Excellent Field Position
2 of 9The Ravens did not start out well, giving up a field goal to start, then going three and out on offense.
Everything changed on a booming Sam Koch punt, which sailed over Jacoby Jones' head.
Jones mistakenly tried to field the punt, and the Ravens capitalized on his mistake. Cary Williams forced the fumble, and Jimmy Smith fell on it to set the Ravens up at the Texans 3-yard line.
Anquan Boldin Makes a Stellar 28-Yard Reception
3 of 9Anquan Boldin immediately made an impact in this game, leading the Ravens in receptions and yards.
None of his catches were quite as pretty as this one-handed grab.
Joe Flacco saw the single coverage and lofted a pass to Boldin, who used his strong hands to make the grab despite Kareem Jackson's perfect coverage.
The catch set the Ravens up in Texans territory, but they were unable to capitalize with points.
Lee Evans Makes His Best Catch of the Year
4 of 9By all accounts, the Lee Evans trade was a bust, but he is still capable of gems like this.
With the Ravens offense struggling badly, they needed a spark on offense, and Evans provided just that. Flacco saw the single coverage and allowed Evans to make a play.
Evans made the best of the opportunity with a beautiful catch that set the Ravens up in the red zone.
Botched Handoff Gives Ravens a Scare
5 of 9Set up inside the Texans 5-yard line, the Ravens were poised to further their lead.
A botched handoff nearly ruined a promising drive, but Ben Grubbs was able to fall on the ball for the Ravens.
The Texans Stop the Ravens at the Goal Line
6 of 9Allowing a touchdown here would have been ruinous for the Houston Texans, giving the Ravens a two-score lead.
The Ravens had less than a yard to go, but the Texans were up to the task of shutting down the Ravens, stonewalling their running game at the goal line.
This stop was key in giving the Texans a chance to win this game.
Anquan Boldin Vents His Frustrations on Jason Allen
7 of 9After a few nice grabs early, Boldin was unable to find any space against a stout Houston defense.
On a play in which Boldin felt interfered with, he took out his frustrations on the Texans' Jason Allen, who basically tackled Boldin on the play.
This play is indicative of the defensive, hard-hitting nature of this contest.
Ed Reed's Interception Stops the Texans Cold
8 of 9Without a big performance from the secondary today, the Ravens would not have won this game.
Ed Reed, in particular, was stellar. Looking like a young man again, Reed was all over the field today, and this interception was huge for the Ravens.
Reed read T.J. Yates all the way, and he capitalized by making a nice grab to stop the Texans drive.
T.J. Yates' Hail Mary Goes Incomplete, Ravens Win
9 of 9Down by a single score, T.J. Yates had a chance to win the game despite his three interceptions.
Ed Reed was stellar all day, picking off Yates once and breaking up numerous passes.
Ed Reed simply wouldn't allow for his efforts to be in vain, as he streaked across the field to break up Yates' last ditch pass.
With that deflection, the Ravens could take a knee and move on to the AFC Championship Game.
