WWE News: Latest Report on Backstage Heat on WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne
Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston—collectively known as Air Boom—were supposed to revitalize the WWE’s tag team division when they formed over the summer.
While they started off hot with solid feuds against the Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) and Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, they’ve hit a snag over the last few months, having no real feud and hardly getting any TV time.
Of course, we assumed that a lot of that stems from Bourne’s suspension for failing a Wellness test and the heat on him that followed, but Air Boom’s extreme lack of TV appearances as of late has some fans wondering what’s really going on.

Well, here is the latest on Bourne’s backstage heat.
From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestleZone.com):
"The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the current backstage heat on WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne has little or nothing to do with him leaking that he and R-Truth had been smoking synthetic marijuana, as originally reported.
It's also being said that despite previous reports, Triple H did NOT confront Bourne about the situation, rather Bourne approached Triple H and apologized.
"
OK, so maybe Bourne doesn’t have heat for supposedly “ratting” R-Truth out over his failed Wellness test, but it’s clear that there is more going on in this situation than meets the eye.
I honestly can’t even remember the last time Bourne appeared on Monday Night Raw, as he’s been relegated mostly to Superstars while Kingston has appeared on Raw and SmackDown by himself for the most part. Unfortunately for Kingston, though, he seems to be suffering from Bourne’s backstage heat as well.
Kingston has hardly appeared on TV at all since Survivor Series, and when he has, it’s not like he’s getting any type of push. He’s either jobbing to Daniel Bryan like he did on Monday’s Raw or losing non-title matches to Epico and Primo.
That really sucks for Kingston, and it does lead me to believe that he may have some heat as well (possibly for sticking up for Bourne or something like that).
If not, then it seems like the creative team could have just made Air Boom drop the tag team titles, stop pushing Bourne and get Kingston back into the mid-card mix as a singles competitor.
That hasn’t happened, though, and both Bourne and Kingston are stuck in a major rut at the moment, one that really has no end in sight and seems to be a result of Bourne’s backstage heat.
